    Chapter 182: Reinforcements

What’s the most amusing thing in the world? There are many joys—like a stunning beauty disguising as a boy, eating together, playing sports together, even sleeping together…

Then, when her clueless friend least expects it, she reveals herself in feminine attire with a playful “Surprise! I’m actually a girl~”

Watching the boy’s brain short-circuit—stunned, flustered, refusing to accept reality—is a moment where no one can suppress a smirk.

Yiwen, unluckily, got stuck with a dense boy who barely reacted.

Now, she was the one with a buzzing brain, struggling to process reality, clutching her chest in disbelief.

Blue plasma streaked the night sky like fireworks—ending in gore, erasing a life that never shone.

    “Xiaoliu?”

Yiwen reached out to the person she “hated” most, begging for an answer—any answer—though she didn’t even know what she wanted to hear.

Mi Xiaoliu stood back turned, her hood tilting slightly, as if glancing over her shoulder.

The all-too-familiar gatling gun vanished into her system inventory.

Then—one leap, ten meters—she sprinted toward the battlefield.

Yiwen’s arm dropped. Her hands pressed against her chest, aching with emotions she couldn’t name.

Soft, timid Mi Xiaoliu was a ruthless killer—and a girl.

    Of course.

No wonder she was in Sunshine City. No wonder she appeared in Yiwen’s room. No wonder she vanished with Yiwen. No wonder she was here now, alongside the governor’s attackers.

“HOW ARE YOU ALSO A GIRL?! AND THAT LITTLE B*TCH?!”

Yiwen collapsed, clawing at her hair.

For the first time since the cyberbullying incident, she felt this devastated.

She had lied too, but Mi Xiaoliu—after her identity was exposed—had said she liked Yiwen. Was that a lie?

I loved you so much… Was I just a tool for your disguise? What does my one-sided love even mean?

You vicious little b*tch. What did I do to deserve this? Attacking my (|), stealing my panties as a weapon, making me drink your foot-wash water…

    And now, breaking my heart.

The one time I fall for someone, you crush me.

In Yiwen’s mind, two faces—seemingly unrelated, yet identical—overlapped.

…MD. Grow Mi Xiaoliu’s hair out, and she’s that little b*tch!

    Yiwen gnashed her teeth.

“Jingyin, you okay?” Enoch, after dumping his sister-in-law in a corner, earning an eye-roll, rushed to comfort her.

Heartless as it sounded, watching Yiwen nearly cry filled him with glee.

    Good. So good!

His “rival” was actually a girl—a cute one at that! No way they were together. Judging by Yiwen’s reaction, nothing had happened between them. This was his best chance!

He reached to hug her—just as Yiwen stood.

Wiping her eyes, she flew toward the distant battle, gravity bending to her will.

“MI XIAOLIU! YOU B*TCH! EXPLAIN YOURSELF!” (Voice cracking.)

“Jingyin!” Enoch stretched out a meme-worthy hand, gulping at the chaotic fight—then glanced back at his injured sister-in-law.

    Can’t abandon Sis…

The redhead rolled her eyes again, using her one arm to operate Enoch’s phone, hers had died with her leg.

“Where’s the backup? The reporters got here faster.”

Local journalists, risking death for a scoop, had already dropped in droves from stray electric shocks.

If this incident spread, public perception of ability users would tank.

“Close. Are you really comparing us to locals?” The female captain’s voice. “Still don’t get it—five of you lost to one?”

“Not one anymore. Can you get another LV4?” She asked hopelessly.

Sunshine City only had two LV4s—her and her husband, who wasn’t coming. Even if he did, he was another virus user. Useless here.

So inexperienced… Getting wrecked immediately? My husband’s gonna laugh at me forever.

“There are two LV4s,” came the unexpected reply. “Reinforcements were dispatched from Fanzui City. They should be arriving any moment now.”

What really triggered urgency wasn’t Wei Shi or the Black-Clothed One—but the governor’s status.

Though other cities often mocked Fanzui City’s public security, when real trouble struck, everyone still relied on them. With four LV4s in total, three had been mobilized at once.

The fastest route from Fanzui City was a five-hour drive. Since the captain said backup was imminent, it wasn’t hard to guess who was coming.

The redhead exhaled in relief, ready to let herself pass out—only to remain wired thanks to Enoch’s stimulants.

    —

“Good sis.” After taking the miracle herb, Hayato Shigenobu stood up, flashing his trademark grin. “Good sis, give me some more of that grass. I’ll pay you 100 mira when we get back.”

Mi Xiaoliu stared at him silently.

“I won’t share it with anyone,” Hayato swore.

Only then did Mi Xiaoliu hand over the miracle herb.

Like a shady older brother tricking a kid out of their gaming console with a handful of snacks.

Hidden in the wheat field, the virus ability user’s face twisted in disbelief. He couldn’t fathom how a handful of weeds had neutralized his carefully crafted toxins.

Even more terrifying? Those bullets had struck a single target with pinpoint accuracy from such a distance. Not even the most blatant cheaters in his battle royale games were this absurd.

“See that old man earlier? That’s the governor. The Boss wants him dead.” Hayato glanced at a white dot approaching in the sky. “If you’re gonna help, make sure Boss knows you came on your own. Don’t drag me into it.”

“Mm.” Mi Xiaoliu sprinted toward Wei Shi on her long legs.

The best escape route was through the air, but the police weren’t blind—they’d spot Wei Shi’s wings. So they’d dragged the governor into a distant grove, heading for the rice fields.

Wei Shi’s “HP bar” was finally showing strain. Even the “Senzu Beans” ran out eventually.

The qigong user’s internal-destroying techniques countered his absolute defense, while the qigong user’s own defensive moves were formidable. The only ways to break through were close-range electrocution or trading blows with other abilities.

A ten-meter-wide handprint was imprinted on the ground, like something out of a Wuxia novel.

Fortunately, the qigong user couldn’t attack endlessly either—he needed to periodically recharge.

Wei Shi’s scales had mostly fallen off. With each cough, the aftereffects of Black Element surged, blood gushing from his mouth.

    Did he look bad?

    His opponents looked worse.

Humpback Whale’s left arm had been torn off, throwing off his balance when punching. The qigong user wasn’t just missing an eye—his entire jaw hung shattered, though it didn’t hinder his combat much.

Compared to them, Wei Shi’s injuries seemed superficial.

But he could feel it—the real trouble was about to arrive.

    No more delays.

The qigong user retreated to recharge, leaving Humpback Whale to cover the offense.

“Aah—!” The qigong user tried to warn, but his ruined jaw made speech impossible.

A black shadow burst from the wheat field—a small, seemingly frail fist slamming into Humpback Whale’s abs.

No holding back. Last time, the Humpback Whale had hit Mi Xiaoliu just like this.

The force nearly shattered Humpback Whale’s stomach. Rather than tank it, he let himself fly backward to disperse the impact.

Wei Shi frowned down at the sudden newcomer.

Mi Xiaoliu produced an apple, tiptoeing to hand it to him. “I came on my own. Not Hayato’s fault.”

    Wei Shi: “…”

Humpback Whale clutched his stomach, groaning. “You’ve lost it. Bringing a minor into this mess?”

The qigong user grunted in agreement.

This was already like fighting a raid boss. Now an LV4 has joined? The scales were tipping fast.

    “Tch.”

Without explaining, Wei Shi took the apple, bit into it, then tossed the rest aside.

Just as the two assumed he was just hydrating, his wounds visibly began healing.

Mi Xiaoliu pulled out more fruit.

“Stop her!” Humpback Whale realized the danger.

This cheater had brought a healer!

The qigong user abandoned his charging, slamming a palm strike toward Mi Xiaoliu with crushing pressure.

“Seeking death.” Wei Shi blocked with his own hand, his body cracking under the strain.

The force rebounded, hitting the qigong user head-on, sending him sprawling.

Wei Shi pointed. “Chase the governor. White-haired old man. Kill him or capture him—your call.”

Mi Xiaoliu didn’t move, still offering apples on tiptoe.

Wei Shi smacked the fruit away. “Go!”

    “…”

Mi Xiaoliu ran in the direction he’d pointed.

    “Bad move.”

Humpback Whale tried to pursue, but Wei Shi yanked him down by the ankle.

Unfazed, Humpback Whale stayed prone, chastising: “Wouldn’t it be smarter to have her stall us while you go after him? We’re already on our last legs. Don’t you want to personally settle the score? Assassinating a governor is a capital offense!”

“Too chatty.” Wei Shi picked up the dirtied apple, biting the clean side. “Granny, you’ve come far.”

“You youngsters never sleep, always stirring trouble. Dragging an old woman out at this hour—I don’t have many years left!” A robust elderly voice came from behind Wei Shi.

A wrinkled woman in embroidered robes leaned on a cane, her hand resting lightly on Wei Shi’s waist—his claw already gripping her wrist.

She’d appeared unnoticed behind him while Mi Xiaoliu was still there, hidden by his bulk.

Fanzui City’s veteran LV4, codename: Speed Force.

    And—

“Will you keep fighting? You’ve made enough chaos. For the child’s sake, leave some room for mercy.” A muscular old man stripped off his shirt.

    Another veteran LV4, codename: Justice.
