“It smells so good.”

Not minding that the cookies were still steaming hot, Leah grabbed one and stuffed it into her mouth.

In her carelessness, she almost tied her tongue in knots from the heat.

Even so, Leah just kept huffing air, and although she was flushed red and tears were almost flowing from the heat, she still refused to spit out that cookie.

“Eat slowly, no one’s going to fight you for it.”

“Let me see, did you burn yourself?”

Eve put down the tray in her hands and quickly ran to Leah’s side, gently blowing air on her reddened little mouth.

Cool breeze slowly wandered along Leah’s lips, like applying a cool, soothing ointment, making Leah feel much better instantly.

“It’sh good, it’sh really good.”

Leah’s tongue was swollen from the burn, but she didn’t forget to praise Eve. Because these cookies were really delicious, even better than those desserts brought from the Royal Palace!

In comparison, those desserts from the Royal Palace paled in comparison.

“I’m glad you like them. Shall we first take some to Miss Qianzhi next door, and when we come back, I’ll bake new ones for you?”

Eve packed the cookies in transparent bags, sealing them with pretty ribbons, yet even so, the sweet fragrance was still hard to contain.

Pushing open the apartment door, Eve wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she seemed to see Qianzhi’s door next door closing for a moment.

Eve didn’t think much of it, assuming she had seen wrong.

She walked to Qianzhi’s door and knocked gently, but inadvertently noticed a pink slipper left outside the door, fluffy with a cute rabbit pattern.

Just as Eve was staring at that slipper in a daze, a strange sound came from inside Qianzhi’s room, sounding like something heavy had fallen to the ground.

Following that was the sound of footsteps quickly running away, and finally turning into steady footsteps approaching from far to near…
