Volume 1 + Chapter 17: Luxurious Apartment

“Of course I will.”

Eve spoke without hesitation, just as Leah would unhesitatingly choose to hold Eve’s hand.

Between the two of them, there was an unspoken mutual understanding that had developed.

“Mm, then I’ll try my best.”

Leah nodded solemnly, fully understanding what being an outstanding graduate representative meant, it meant full tuition exemption, and it also meant that after graduation, the pressure of staying by Eve’s side would be a little less.

The room where Eve and Leah would be staying was located in the middle of the top floor. Looking up from below, the room on the left seemed to be already occupied, with several pretty pieces of women’s underwear vaguely visible hanging out to dry.

“Is- is this the place?”

Leah timidly asked. This place was undoubtedly considered among the wealthiest areas of the wealthy districts.

Because the two of them were dressed plainly and stood hesitating at the entrance of this luxurious apartment for a long time, they naturally attracted many strange looks.

The gazes of those passersby seemed to say that even they themselves only dared to glance up at this luxurious apartment when passing by, yet these two who looked like beggars actually dared to linger at the entrance?

The church shelter was still far from here, and with nightfall approaching, they would have to sleep outside if they didn’t hurry.

“Isn’t that Leah?”

Several passing Church Academy students also recognized the disheveled Leah and couldn’t help but start discussing loudly.

Eve’s ears were itching from listening to this, but she thought, never mind all that, let’s just try it first.

Accompanied by the sound of the key turning, the main door of the apartment was successfully opened by Eve.

The students who had been about to mock Leah were stunned, immediately suppressing their laughter as they watched Leah being pulled by Eve into that extremely luxurious apartment.
