    Chapter Index

Chen Fei didn’t believe for a second that Peach Blossom Immortal was kindly giving him a hint.

But given the current situation, he didn’t have any better options either.

Escaping the cave was nearly impossible—Peach Blossom had surely stationed people at all hidden exits. If he couldn’t take them out in a single instant, any movement would immediately alert the enemy, and he’d be hunted endlessly by the demonic sect.

On the other hand, staying here and watching the demonic cultivators break the seal? That was just as unacceptable.

“You little vixen… You’re trying to play mind games with me now?”

    Chen Fei narrowed his eyes.

That last warning from Peach Blossom Immortal was clearly meant for him. She didn’t know where exactly he was hiding, but he bet she’d repeat that line at every single seal site just in case.

    A warning?

No… she definitely had another motive.

Regardless of what it was, disrupting the demonic sect’s unsealing ritual was still the best option for him right now.

Taking a deep breath, Chen Fei looked over at Nangong Ye.

After Peach Blossom left, Nangong Ye furrowed his brows tightly. He scanned the surrounding demonic cultivators with a sharp, commanding gaze.

Much of what he had just said was for show, but now a real problem loomed—he didn’t actually know all these demonic cultivators. He couldn’t possibly recognize every unfamiliar face.

Was he supposed to go around inspecting them one by one?

Problem was, these useless blood-refined recruits could barely manage to maintain the sealing formation. If he pushed them too hard, the entire seal could collapse prematurely.

    That risk was unacceptable.

Just as he was hesitating, another surge of cold energy erupted from the sealing pillar.

This time it was far worse. Three blasts of icy force burst out in succession, instantly freezing two unlucky demonic cultivators into icy shards, killing them on the spot.

    “Damn it!”

Nangong Ye’s face twisted in fury as he teleported forward, replacing the two fallen cultivators.

Chen Fei’s eyes lit up sharply.

    Now’s the chance.

But he still hesitated. Should he really detonate the sealing pillars right now?

The demonic formation was built to suppress the freezing energy from within the seal—keeping the cold from bursting out and damaging the core formation.

But the problem was, these blood-boosted Myriad Realm cultists were too weak to maintain the suppression. That’s why cold energy kept leaking out.

If Chen Fei intentionally broke the suppression formations, he could trigger a violent outburst. Even if the demonic sect had dozens of Myriad Realm experts here, they might still be annihilated by the cold.

Worse yet, it could cause a chain reaction.

He glanced at Nangong Ye, who was barely holding things together.

    “Fortune favors the bold!”

    Chen Fei steeled his resolve.

His situation couldn’t get much worse anyway. If he couldn’t escape to relay the message, then at least by detonating the seal, he could create enough of a mess that Heavenly Apex Holy Land might notice and intervene.

A glint of determination flashed in his eyes as he turned to the pillar in front of him.

The seal was a translucent, icy blue—gleaming faintly like a piece of fine art. But the power hidden within was anything but beautiful.

If he timed it right, when the cold energy burst, even someone like Nangong Ye at the peak of Human Dao Realm might not survive.

Now… how to trigger the explosion?

Chen Fei examined the structure carefully.

“Ah… so that’s how it works.”

The demonic formation suppressing the pillar was extremely basic, designed only to hold back the freezing energy. But the energy was too violent, and these unstable Myriad Realm puppets couldn’t handle it.

    That was the weak point.

Unlike them, Chen Fei’s Qi was thick and stable, especially after being refined through the Void Heaven Cauldron. His demonic Qi was far denser than theirs.

But he didn’t show it. Instead, he quietly built up pressure, steadily pumping more and more Qi into the formation—hiding it inside.

He was waiting for the critical point.

The exact moment when the seal could no longer endure.

All it would take was for one pillar to explode—and the rest would follow like dominos.

Nangong Ye sighed in relief. That last outburst had been intense, but he managed to stabilize it. Still, the entire formation was now under extreme stress.

“Useless trash… Even the ones inside the seal are dragging their feet!”

    Worry flashed across his face.

This mission was vital to the Holy Sect. If it failed and Heavenly Apex caught wind of it, they would face overwhelming retaliation. Especially since they had already burned through so many resources to create these artificial cultivators.

There was no turning back now.

    It was all or nothing.

Nangong Ye turned to his men.

    “Go get more people!”

One of his aides ran off. Meanwhile, Nangong Ye recalled Peach Blossom’s warning. He began scanning the crowd, looking for anything suspicious.

“Report your names and sect affiliations. Cross-check with the ones beside you!”

Smart. He may not know everyone, but this system could at least weed out fakes.

    “Nether Envoy Sect, Zhao Wu!”

    “Heaven’s Heart Gate, Liu Wanchun!”

    And so on…

Most people were grouped by sect within each formation, so things remained relatively orderly.

But the demonic cultivator who had pushed Chen Fei into place earlier suddenly froze—he turned toward Chen Fei in confusion.

    “You…”

    Chen Fei smiled.

    “That’s right. It’s exactly what you’re thinking.”

By now, the one calling names had already reached Chen Fei’s side.

    The cultivator’s eyes went wide.

    “Lord Nangong!”

“What are you doing? Don’t disrupt the formation!”

Nangong Ye barked sharply, noticing the disturbance.

But the man trembled, pointing at Chen Fei.

    “He—he’s—!”

Chen Fei looked up, grinning as he waved at Nangong Ye.

“You must be Nangong Ye, right? What a pleasure to finally meet you like this.”

Nangong Ye was momentarily stunned, then his eyes narrowed sharply.

    His first thought:

This must be the Chen Fei that Peach Blossom mentioned.

    His second thought:

Why the hell is this guy’s smile so sleazy?!

Nangong Ye’s robes fluttered with sudden force. He leapt forward, charging toward Chen Fei.

    But it was too late.

All the demonic cultivators near Chen Fei had instinctively jumped to their feet in panic.

The formation suppressing the pillar instantly collapsed.

A chilling surge of cold began to gather—once it burst, it would be unstoppable.

Chen Fei looked at Nangong Ye, still approaching.

“Consider this a little gift to the Holy Sect. You’re welcome.”

    “NO! You bastard—stop!!”

Nangong Ye screamed, his face twisting in fury.

    CRACK—

A sharp, crystal-clear sound filled the cavern.

    Chen Fei’s body suddenly vanished.

At the same moment, the pillar in front of him flared with brilliant blue light.

    It exploded.

A torrent of freezing energy erupted outward.

The dark cavern was transformed, in the blink of an eye, into a world of ice and snow.
