    Chapter Index

Upon hearing Wang Fang’s furious shout, Chen Fei merely chuckled. With a light tap of his toes, he disappeared from where he stood.

The Blood Cloud Sect elders following behind Wang Fang frowned as they withdrew their hands. They had just tried to secretly join forces to capture Chen Fei—but he’d dodged with ease!

Retreating swiftly, Chen Fei’s voice floated back toward them through the darkness:

    “I’ll be waiting~”

Wang Fang’s fury boiled, but he quickly calmed himself.

“Elder Bloodfiend, Elder Shadow Ghoul—you two guard the entrance! Chen Fei must not escape!”

    “Yes, Young Sect Master!”

These two were the oldest powerhouses in the Blood Cloud Sect—the true heavy hitters among those brought here today.

Elder Shadow Ghoul hesitated and asked,

“But if we’re stationed here… what if Young Sect Master encounters Chen Fei again?”

Wang Fang waved it off coldly.

“You don’t need to worry. I have my own methods.”

With that, he led the remaining elders deeper into the Blood Blossom Underground Palace.

Deeper inside the palace, the fastest-moving were White Lotus and the Eight Ghosts.

Though the Eight Ghosts had performed terribly in the failed ambush on Chen Fei, White Lotus had known them for years. She still trusted them more than others.

“To think Blood Cloud Sect had such a hidden place… Seems like this underground palace really is a secret realm left behind from ancient times,” one of the Eight Ghosts murmured, staring at carvings along the blood-red walls.

    White Lotus nodded.

“Looks like we’re lucky this time. But that also means we’ve thoroughly offended the Blood Cloud Sect. We need to be quick!”

“What about Fairy Peach Blossom’s side…?” one of them asked hesitantly.

    White Lotus snorted.

“The Sacred Gate’s mission is their business. But anything we grab with our own hands? That’s ours.”

The Eight Ghost raised his brows but eventually nodded in agreement.

Just then, the path ahead came to an abrupt halt.

A vivid crimson glow illuminated the area. The two looked at each other cautiously, then stepped forward.

Elsewhere in the palace, Fairy Peach Blossom stood before a shadowy mural, shock flashing across her eyes.

“This… this is the legendary Blood Blossom Underground Palace? The heart of the Blood Burial Secret Realm?! Blood Cloud Sect definitely withheld vital information!”

Soon, her expression shifted to joy.

According to legend, the Blood Blossom Underground Palace housed the first demonic spirit beast of the ancient era—Bixue Lotus Beast.

If she could obtain it, her cultivation would undergo a qualitative leap.

Meanwhile, Chen Fei released Leng Yue from the Violet Purity Palace.

“Senior sister, we’ve entered the underground palace,” he said, scanning their surroundings.

They were in a narrow, enclosed corridor. Leng Yue stepped up to examine the stone walls.

Just as she focused, the wall began squirming like it was alive—and before she could react, it swallowed her whole!

Chen Fei moved fast. As she disappeared into the wall, he managed to grab her by the leg.

A sticky, indescribable sensation enveloped them as they were dragged inward.

When the world stilled again, they found themselves inside a scarlet passage that pulsed with wet, organic energy.

“What the hell is this place?” Chen Fei frowned.

Leng Yue, calm as ever, replied,

    “Inside a monster.”

    “Inside a what?”

She glanced at him and smirked at his bewildered expression.

“It’s not uncommon in ancient ruins. I suspect the widespread fall of ancient immortals may be linked to creatures like this.”

Chen Fei hesitated, then touched the wall—soft and pulsating with warmth.

It was exactly what Leng Yue said—it felt alive.

“These creatures are massive, strange, and immune to spiritual energy,” she added. As she spoke, she conjured an ice spike and stabbed the nearby wall.

The wall shuddered, then absorbed the spike like it was nothing.

“Immune to spirit energy? Then how do we get out?” Chen Fei asked.

    “That’s not a problem.”

    Leng Yue shook her head.

“They have weak points. I believe this thing brought us in because it wants our help.”

“Help? From us?” Chen Fei was utterly confused.

“You’ll see soon enough,” she said, continuing onward.

Though he’d seen many secret realms, Chen Fei had never encountered something this bizarre. Still, Leng Yue seemed familiar with the situation, which gave him some comfort.

As they advanced deeper, a new sound became audible: liquid sloshing and gurgling.

“Senior sister… that sound isn’t what I think it is, right?” he asked.

Leng Yue already had a protective shield up.

“Just… metabolism. Don’t overthink it,” she said coolly, though her expression betrayed a hint of unease.

Chen Fei didn’t dare let his guard down. He formed a spirit energy shield just in time—

    BOOM!

A torrent of blood surged down the corridor like a flash flood, crashing into his shield with incredible force.

The stench was nauseating. Everything around them was drenched in red.

Fortunately, it ended as quickly as it began.

Chen Fei lowered his shield but still looked disturbed.

“Let’s go! That wave means someone else has already started helping the monster. We need to move faster!” Leng Yue urged.

She sped up noticeably, and Chen Fei followed closely behind.

Soon, they arrived at a lake of coagulated blood.

“Be cautious. This creature still weakens spiritual energy, but control is still possible.”

As she finished speaking, Leng Yue lifted her palm—and the flowing blood froze midstream.

Suddenly, noodle-like worms poked their heads from the surface.

But Leng Yue was faster. With a wave, she froze them solid in the blood lake.

    “Now!” she shouted.

But even before her words landed, Chen Fei had already acted.

His Wufeng Greatsword swept across, channeling sharp energy.

The worms that had risen were instantly sliced in two.

“Don’t get careless! These things are hard to kill. Burn them after restraining them,” Leng Yue warned again.

Chen Fei noticed it too: even after being cleaved, the worms began regenerating rapidly.

Without the cold to hold them back, the wriggling monsters launched themselves at him.

    “Burn!”

Chen Fei snapped his fingers, and a burst of flame engulfed the incoming swarm.

Though immune to spirit energy, the searing heat was still lethal.

The worms writhed, then fell still.

“Whew… that was close,” Chen Fei exhaled in relief.

    Leng Yue looked at him.

“Killing them isn’t easy—especially for Origin Realm cultivators. Most would lose half their life just trying to escape.”

Chen Fei nodded. If he hadn’t recently advanced to the Mysterious Realm and deepened his understanding of Dao, these creatures would’ve been nearly impossible to deal with.

    This place… really isn’t normal.
