Chapter 1850
by 林方方Chapter 1850 Vishnu Takes Action
“We’re approaching the deepest level of the labyrinth now.”
Lina said after holding the hilt of the Stone Sword and sensing for a moment.
Lin Qiye nodded, his gaze sweeping across their surroundings. The time fragments were becoming increasingly larger now. If previously they had been stepping through time with each step, now they needed to walk half a street’s length before entering another timeframe.
Each time they passed through different times, they felt as if they were crossing between worlds, as though traversing years of time in an instant.
According to Lin Qiye’s calculations, they weren’t far from the remnants of the Gate of Truth.
As they advanced, the scenery around them changed. No longer was it an endless ice field, but rather an ancient ruin standing among mountain ranges.
These mountains were covered with snow and thick layers of ice, pointing toward the sky like swords. They surrounded the area, with the central terrain being flat but without snow cover. Enormous rock fragments covered the ground, each one larger than the body of the wolf Fenrir.
“This place is over a hundred years removed from the time we entered,” Lina said, looking around. “Everything we see now is from over a century ago.”
“A hundred years ago, when the Gate of Truth was just destroyed…”
Lin Qiye gazed into the distance, but his vision was blocked by barriers of chaotic light.
These barriers were different from those they saw when first entering the labyrinth. Initially, numerous thin, small time fragments were stacked together, giving a kaleidoscopic effect. But here, the time fragments were in blocks, separated by years, large and thick, appearing from a distance like frosted glass domes.
Lin Qiye crossed through a time barrier, and a wave of dizziness flashed through his mind, similar to when he had traveled back to the Han Dynasty with Wu Quan, though much milder.
Lin Qiye shook his head, quickly regaining clarity. Between the distant boulders, the faint outline of a doorway was becoming visible.
“It’s the Gate of Truth,” Lin Qiye’s eyes brightened. “We’ve reached the deepest part of this labyrinth.”
Just as Lin Qiye was about to move forward, the ground beneath his feet suddenly began to shake. Several figures emerged slowly from the other side of the time barrier, and a terrifying aura instantly enveloped the area!
Leading them was a man wearing a kasaya, with a face that seemed both smiling and crying, two faces joined together, eerily strange. Behind him respectfully followed Number 22, and after that, a somewhat familiar Supreme God.
“Vishnu?” Lin Qiye’s heart sank when he saw the figure in the kasaya.
Although he had previously suspected Vishnu might not be dead, after so many years without appearing, Lin Qiye had assumed he was probably hiding in some corner… He never expected to find him here in this time labyrinth.
Now with the Heavenly Court gone and the gods withering away, apart from the human-born Zhou Ping and the invading Outer God [Black Goat], Vishnu had transformed himself into the only legitimate Supreme God still active in the world.
He really knew how to survive… Lin Qiye thought to himself.
Number 22 stepped out from behind Vishnu, pointing at Lin Qiye, and respectfully said:
“Foster father, it’s him, he’s Lin Qiye!”
“I recognize the aura of the Seraph,” Vishnu’s gaze swept over Lin Qiye and Lina, his eyes narrowing slightly. “A Seraph, and the ancient King Arthur… it’s been a long time.”
Foster father?
Lin Qiye stood frozen.
Although he had guessed the two might be working together when he saw Number 22 emerge with Vishnu, what was this “foster father” business about?
Roar—!
The wolf Fenrir sensed the dangerous aura emanating from Vishnu and let out a fierce howl, muscles tensing, blood-red eyes filled with hostility.
Vishnu stared at the three of them, slowly raising his hand…
“Run!”
Without any hesitation, Lin Qiye shouted to Lina and immediately rushed back!
Lina, being a warrior ranked first among the [Ten Imperial Guards], had reactions no slower than Lin Qiye’s. Two afterimages sped toward the time barrier behind them, with the wolf Fenrir following closely.
No matter how powerful Seraph Lin Qiye was, he was still only a God, separated from the Supreme realm by an unbridgeable chasm.
Just as they turned, a massive golden Buddha hand had already formed in the air, terrifying divine power gathering in its palm, almost blocking the entire sky before crashing down, instantly grinding all the giant rocks on the ground to dust!
Among the flying dust, two figures flashed into existence from the void. Lin Qiye held [Zhan Bai], with six pure white wings spread behind his back.
With a flap of his wings, Lin Qiye grabbed Lina’s wrist, and their forms transformed into a bolt of lightning, disappearing behind the time barrier.
“Foster father…”
Number 22 was about to say something when Vishnu’s voice interrupted him.
“Don’t worry, they won’t escape.”
As he spoke, Vishnu’s form directly pierced through the void, pursuing in the direction Lin Qiye and Lina had fled.
Passing through the time barrier, a strong sense of dizziness enveloped Lin Qiye’s mind. He quickly forced himself to regain clarity, but by then, a cold chill had already surrounded his body!
Above the rapidly moving Lin Qiye and Lina, Vishnu’s form simultaneously materialized, as if split in two, instantly dividing!
The crying-faced Vishnu formed a hand seal with one hand and pressed down from above. The surrounding space instantly collapsed, forcefully slamming the flying Lin Qiye and Lina down among the rocks, creating a crying face-shaped crater deeply embedded in the ground.
From the cracks in the ground, a golden figure slowly stood up. Lin Qiye held the Kusanagi Sword, with [Mortal Divine Domain] expanded to its limit.
Trying to escape from a Supreme Being wasn’t so easy… opportunities could only be seized by oneself.
The smiling-faced Vishnu slowly descended onto the ground nearby, flashing hand seals in succession. His form suddenly rose from the ground, a terrifying golden giant blocking half their escape route, hundreds of meters tall.
This size wasn’t Vishnu’s limit, but rather the limit of this time fragment. If he grew any larger, his head would enter another timeframe, forcibly separating from his body.
As the smiling-faced Vishnu raised his hand, a towering vajra appeared in his grasp, whistling down toward Lin Qiye’s face!
Golden flames ignited in the depths of Lin Qiye’s pupils, his divine power pushed to the extreme. His form rose with flapping wings, actively swinging his sword to meet this attack!
Clang—!!
The golden sword light held the edge of the vajra, and the gale of two divine powers raged across the ground. Just as Lin Qiye’s sword was gradually being pressed down, a graceful figure soared into the sky!
