Chapter 476
by fanqienovelChapter 476: Wow! The Glowing Emerald Legend!
"Great is the Giant God!"
Sylvia knelt semi-prostrate in prayer beneath the deep Ether Abyss.
Yet she felt profoundly alone.
Sylvia stood as the sole mortal in physical form to reach the Ether Abyss.
But they all witnessed the Giant God’s "great feat."
Enormous jaws displayed invincible power across the entire ether.
The Soul Network buzzed with proud praises and joyous discussions.
"Those dragon-shaped fish deities radiated such pressure earlier! Yet before the Giant God, they became mere dishes!"
"Insignificant pests, unworthy of the Giant God’s attention."
"Still, the Giant God came. This shows how deeply He values our undertaking."
…
Sylvia rose within the vast emptiness after completing her prayer.
"Roar—!"
The Microscopic Dragon, despite its name, wasn’t small.
It was colossal!
Its hundreds-of-meters-long avatar body twisted spectacularly through a camp crammed with small houses.
"Ah—Ooh—!"
The Microscopic Dragon thrust its snout forward, swallowing Sylvia whole.
"Slurp… Hiss…"
Countless tentacle-like connectors extended from the avatar body—not the slimy, grimy kind favored by magical girls.
They were virtual tentacles woven from Holy Light from the Sun, akin to the virtual organs of Chosen Ones warriors.
No suckers. No slime. Instead, these connector tentacles blazed with sacred light.
Like holy ribbons, they stretched forth, plugging into every interface within the Fifth Living Saint’s body.
"Whew…"
"Prayer complete!"
"Connection established!"
"Time to work!"
"Boom—! Boom—! Boom—!"
As Sylvia’s fervor surged, the hundreds-of-meters-long avatar body roared thunderously!
It lifted its massive head high, and then…
“Bang——!”
Suddenly, it plunged down, landing on the “floor” made of Primal Mud and Ancient God Fragments.
“Creak—Sizzle—!”
With a sharp metal grinding sound, the “flower”-like snout slowly dug deeper, as the tough "law steel teeth" vibrated fast.
“Whew… Whew… Whew…”
The “floor” shook, and the hardened Primal Mud and Ancient God Fragments started to break apart.
Chaotic energy gushed out, trying to fight the giant worm’s biting, but was quickly changed by the "law steel teeth" of the "giant worm," making the rules “soft.”
Though the “floor” had long been soaked by the “divine liquid” from the Abyss, sticking together and hardening, and even holding the will and laws of the Abyss—Resilience.
Now, they were being beaten by a stronger rule!
So, the hole in the “floor” got bigger.
Finally…
“Boom—!”
Sylvia’s avatar body burrowed in, digging deeper.
Around her…
“Boom…”
“Boom!”
“Bang!”
Everywhere, “metal giant worms” were digging wildly.
Under their feet was a “City of Dimensions” slowly forming.
Sylvia and the expedition’s advance team had to make a safe spot under the Abyss’s watch and open a net path to the Far Reaching Star.
Later, more “Microscopic Dragon-class” working ships would keep coming through the net path from the Far Reaching Star.
If things went smoothly, Sylvia would even think about starting a production line right in the new City of Dimensions.
Reproducing on-site!
Now, Sylvia finally got what the Giant God meant by “reproduction” and “proliferation.”
Above them, the twisting, blue-green “Abyssal Carpet” moved.
In the thick Abyssal Carpet, long “gaps” had been dug, linking to the Ether Sea above, like bad wounds.
Though the Abyss was slowly fixing these wounds, the Ether Sea kept flooding in.
“Hiss…”
“Sizzle…”
Inside the Abyssal Carpet, slight rot and sores were happening.
It seemed some parts of the Abyssal Carpet did not like etheric liquid, or its energy.
They were quickly wilting and rotting under the etheric liquid’s damage.
The chain reaction quickly occurred.
Hollow cavities appeared one after another within the Abyssal Carpet due to collapses.
The Ether Sea surged into these cavities, immediately triggering new ulcers.
Within moments, massive rotting wounds formed—four to five times larger than those dug by the Microscopic Dragons!
Yet these numerous cavities and ulcers covered only small individual areas, escaping significant notice from mortals.
The Abyss wasn’t defenseless.
Temporary fill flooded in, gradually sealing cavities and "gaps," slowly expelling the Ether Sea upward. The excavated "channels" steadily closed and healed.
But this "healing" offered merely structural support.
Functional recovery lagged behind; fortunately, the "wounds" were minor. The corrosive damage amounted to a mere drop in the ocean for the Abyss, unlikely to impair its functions.
Still, the mortals’ unintentional actions had genuinely harmed the Abyssal Carpet.
The Abyss seemed utterly oblivious and indifferent.
"Boom—Boom—Boom—!"
Excavation persisted.
The City of Dimensions kept expanding.
Soon, Sylvia and her team realized this site was extraordinary.
As the city grew, "things" long sealed beneath Ancient God Fragments and Primal Mud by the Abyssal Carpet broke free.
"Hiss…"
Several small light specks, each human-sized, darted through the void with sinuous tail movements.
They resembled gleaming golden tadpoles!
—-
"Burp—!"
Trilobite felt… not hungry.
At least, his system confirmed it.
Though the dragon fish stretched a full meter—a market spectacle as seafood—it barely satisfied him. For Trilobite, only prey matching his weight earned "not hungry."
His satiety (and burp) came from luring fleeing dragon fish with a taunt of "son of a thief."
Watching them crash against his pre-set Ball Joint Armor, he mused how effortless seafood hunting could be.
"Splash…"
His massive head breached the surface as he paddled shoreward.
But then—
"Hiss…"
"Hmm!?"
Tiny, darting dots flickered in his system vision—confused yet swift.
"What’s that?"
"Can’t see it clearly."
"Probably not food."
Obviously.
"Small dots" in his system always meant microorganisms.
Activating system vision often drowned landscapes in dense swathes of red, blue, or green—like some map-painting game.
Enough to overwhelm anyone with cluster phobia.
Luckily, Trilobite adapted.
Microbes, even red or orange ones, hadn’t been on his menu for ages.
He wasn’t a filter-feeder.
Nor did large filter-feeders consume microbes!
He delegated that to his spawn, collecting dividends later.
But these dots were different.
In system vision, they glowed vivid green—like lantern-lit jade or twilight fireflies shimmering underwater.
Glowing "things" were a first.
Microbes or not, they demanded attention.
"Hmm…"
"What are you…?"
"Ahh…"
Gently, Trilobite scooped the "green-jade" dots into his giant jaws, cradling them cautiously.
