Chapter 432
by fanqienovelChapter 432: Step Aside! Watch My Micro Management!
“Damn it!”
“Go attack!”
“What are you all afraid of?”
“That’s just a motionless ‘Fantasy Tree’!”
“Even if it’s poisonous, I never told you to bite it!”
“Just level the place with your Divine Bodies! What’s so hard!?”
“The Giant God isn’t here—why cower!?”
Guxin had been infuriated by the Vast Dragon Gods’ hesitation, nearly choking on his rage. He endlessly cursed their cowardice.
For now, though, cursing was all he could do.
As a deity who relied on magic rather than Divine Body combat, Guxin knew his limits well—and how to avoid them.
He stayed hidden in the relatively safe rear, using wide-area observation magic to monitor events from afar. When needed, he’d cast long-range spells for support.
Truthfully, this "wide-area observation magic" wasn’t wide at all—it covered only a narrow, wedge-shaped slice of land. Still, it spanned the whole Ether Holy Tree, and that sufficed.
Of course, observing from afar meant Guxin couldn’t force the Vast Dragon Gods to charge the tree himself.
Though his "Border Powers" let him command deities dwelling on the Chaos Swamp’s edge, ordering Vast Dragon Gods came at a price.
They hailed from the Primal Wilderness, not this realm. Why obey him?
Their sole bond was employer and employee. Trading lives for a shred of Soul?
Not worth it. Truly not.
“What in blazes scares you!?”
“Still huddling like sheep!”
“The Giant God’s trapped by the Ether Giant Wave! His two mortal spawns are likely grappling with my subordinates—maybe even dead!”
“That brute can’t reach here!”
“What are you defending against!?”
“Thin air!?”
After fuming until his breath steadied, Guxin decided to verify the situation.
“Damn it… My soul-extraction magic for subordinate officials was just used. Still cooling down…”
“The Predatory Deity I sent into the void veered off-course. Not back yet.”
“This battlefield intel is hopeless…”
Just as the core councilor agonized over intelligence gaps—
“Buzz—!”
The thrum of membranous wings echoed as an Outer God from the Void drifted closer.
The wingbeats grated on Guxin’s nerves, sparking an urge to swat the bothersome "insect deity" flat.
But he still held back.
Within the Chaos Council, one couldn’t even hit a bug without checking its owner, let alone strike a dog.
Gimmerly had mastered the authority of the void and became the council’s Twelfth Seat, second only to Barbatos. Under the authority of the void, all Outer Gods from the Void were under her jurisdiction.
“Tsk…”
As the Outer God slowly flew and landed on the tip of his nose, Guxin felt envy, jealousy, and hatred.
Comparing powers and authorities was truly difficult!
Of course, he did not crush the annoying Outer God as he usually would; instead, it brought important information.
“Hello, esteemed core councilor Guxin.”
“Lord Gimmerly sent us Outer Gods to assist you.”
“Although we were not good at battle, you could trust our intelligence capabilities.”
Although Guxin did not like Gimmerly and was even more jealous of her powers, he had to admit that the Outer Gods did indeed have much stronger intelligence-gathering abilities than the Outer Predators.
“Alright, thank you for the kind offer, Lady Gimmerly.”
Even though Gimmerly had been marked with the “Chaos Mark” and should theoretically remain absolutely loyal to the Will of Chaos, Barbatos still did not trust Gimmerly very much.
The intelligence gathered by the Outer Gods was only a reference, not to be used for major decision-making.
Guxin found this a bit hard to understand.
Having received the “Chaos Mark,” what was Barbatos still worried about?
Although Barbatos had given up such conveniences for unknown reasons, Guxin did not want to.
Moreover, as a core councilor of chaos, Guxin also possessed a “special skill” to verify the authenticity of the information.
“So, tell me what information you have brought.”
The Outer God gently bowed and said, “The Giant God jumped into the Ether Sea, but still had not come ashore.”
“His two spawns were still entangled with your subordinate officials and could not free themselves.”
“That’s all.”
The report was very concise.
And the more concise the information was, the harder it was to fabricate or lie about it.
This was common sense.
But Guxin was also cautious; he did not just hand everything over to so-called “common sense.”
“Buzz—!”
His small eyes sparkled with light, meeting the compound eyes of the Outer God.
The light pierced directly into the Soul!
“Uh…”
The Outer God let out a wail, its body trembling, and slumped down.
After a moment…
“Hmm, good, all the information is real.”
Guxin nodded and let the Outer God from the Void leave.
Watching the swaying figure of the Outer God, he made a decision.
“Since the Giant God is still trapped in the Sea of Ether, the Vast Dragon Gods must be ‘slacking off’!”
“Then don’t blame me for being rude!”
“I need to carefully control my magic!”
“Magic Power, gather now!”
“Powers Magic!”
“Ether Water Soul Lock!”
The so-called “Ether Water Soul Lock” was one of the “Powers Magic”; those with this power could use a lot of magic to send their Soul and will into the Sea of Ether, creating waves.
Gods hit by the waves were briefly affected by the caster for a time.
The closer they were, the stronger the effect.
Then, as Guxin chanted, a small wave rose from his feet and rushed forward.
The wave charged ahead, crashing into the divine body of the “Vast Dragon God.”
Divine power and the wave merged into their bodies, changing their will!
Guxin’s careful magic control began!
—-
Although attacking prepared foes head-on was irrational and not a hunter’s usual tactics, Trilobite didn’t see himself as a hunter now.
“I feel like a farmer driving wild boars from my field; I must stop those beasts from ruining my crops!”
“This isn’t just hunting; it’s a warning strike!”
“So, I must use powerful methods to scare those fellows as much as possible!”
“Even if it’s a bit messy or I get a small skin injury, I must break their formation.”
“Only then can I frighten them the most!”
Just as Trilobite gritted his teeth and got ready to charge the “Flat Kenyichthyosaurs”…
“Splash—!”
A wave suddenly came from the swamp behind the “Flat Kenyichthyosaurs.”
The wave was small and quiet, since it came from the “swamp,” so it didn’t draw Trilobite’s notice.
But then, things got odd…
“Have these Flat Kenyichthyosaurs lost their minds?!”
Trilobite was shocked; he tried to widen his eyes.
Sadly, his calcite eyes couldn’t do that.
But this didn’t stop joy from growing in his heart.
Because those “Flat Kenyichthyosaurs” unexpectedly abandoned their tight formation of mutual support, scattering forward instead!
“Boom—!”
“Boom—!”
Heavy claws slammed into the sandy ground; even though the muddy sand reached their knees, it couldn’t stop their determined steps.
“Aaaargh!”
These creatures roared as their round bodies crashed hard into the “red tree fern!”
In Trilobite’s mind, their nostrils flared, and their Double Eyes turned red, like angry bulls.
“Bang—!”
Under the impact of their huge bodies, the “red tree fern” trembled, making a sad creaking and cracking sound.
A few branches bent and fell under the weight, drifting away.
Some seed-like things shook loose from the “tree” and, carried by the rising tide, floated off along the coast.
But with its deep roots and strong tubers, the main part of the “red tree fern” stood firm.
This seemed to anger the Flat Kenyichthyosaurs, so they kept attacking fiercely.
“Why did you break your formation and scatter suddenly to hit my red tree fern?”
“It’s hard to understand.”
Trilobite climbed ashore smoothly, with no trouble at all.
“Roar—!”
He roared, charging toward the Flat Kenyichthyosaurs.
This wasn’t hunting but an act of intimidation, so roaring first made sense.
When his roar exploded near their ear blades, the Flat Kenyichthyosaurs seemed to snap out of their rage.
“Argh!”
They cried in panic, trying to huddle together and form up again.
But Trilobite had already slipped among them, blocking their path to regroup.
With no way to fight, they could only run.
But…
Could they escape?
The heavy beasts, stuck in muddy sand and struggling, were no match for the saber-toothed Bopolong, which had some dinosaur-like grace!
“Ah—ugh—!”
The big mouth clamped down on one creature’s neck, saber teeth choking him!
But that wasn’t all!
“Ah—ugh—!”
Another bite!
Once more, saber teeth choked him…
Trilobite ignored those who collapsed from the “ongoing lethal group,” foaming at the mouth, and went after the healthy ones still running.
A brutal chase and slaughter began!
The scene was wilder than a BBC documentary.
As the last Flat Kenyichthyosaurs fled the sandbank, heading outward, Trilobite followed close behind.
He wanted to chase them down and teach them a lesson, so they’d take their fear back to their big clan!
But then, the Flat Kenyichthyosaurs slowed their steps.
Behind them, a new “paleo creature” seemed to have appeared.
“Oh, I finally see you!”
“I wonder what you taste like.”
