Chapter 345
by fanqienovelChapter 345: How about being a turtle?
Albert Drake’s blood pressure shot up.
Trilobite, however, was very happy.
“Not bad!”
“Not bad!”
He checked his spawn list and saw that “microorganisms spawn 2” had gotten a small “BUFF.”
After [microorganisms spawn 2], a line popped up: [Blessed, multiplying fast (only in “New Far Reaching” area)].
“Wow.”
“That big sandbank even has a name.”
“That’s a nice name, very much like human colonies from the space age.”
“I can make it a spot to sell my probiotics.”
“And good things hardly ever come in pairs.”
Trilobite looked through other parts of the System.
After closing a bunch of requests to rent “probiotics” without thinking, he fixed his eyes on another window.
[You have a new consultation room request. Accept?]
“Of course!”
“Do I need to say?”
Even though the money from the “Evolution Consultation Room” was way less than from a good hunt, it was still the quickest way to get cash fast out of all the jobs.
“Accept!”
“Hurry up!”
Trilobite went into the system’s “consultation room” and checked out the customer’s look.
“Dear guest, you are…”
“Oh, an old buddy.”
Wasn’t that the Phantom Dragon?
“Hmm…”
“The Phantom Dragon wants to get better?”
“That’s easy.”
“You’ve got lots of great relatives to copy from…”
Right then, the System suddenly showed a picture of a turtle.
“No, no, no, I didn’t mean a turtle!”
The Phantom Dragon is part of the ichthyosaurs group, and ichthyosaurs are under the “pan-testudines.”
Armored creatures can live long by hiding, but if they just want to hide, is that really progress?
Actually, it could be called that.
Turtles and tortoises had endured from the Permian period to modern times—wearing the thickest armor yet taking the hardest hits. No beating could finish them off, and they still thrived!
Apart from Antarctica, what continent lacked their presence?
Reaching the pinnacle to reign as a temporary deity, leaving one’s bold mark in the earth’s layers—that was certainly "ambition." But branching out and aiming for eternity? Wasn’t that ambition in another dimension?
"And among ichthyosaurs, many species converged with turtles and tortoises."
"Like shield-tooth dragons and such."
"Seems workable. Maybe…"
The more Trilobite pondered, the more it made sense. He was about to wave his hand and play a trick by turning the client into a turtle when—
"Buzz…"
An Information Flow flooded in.
It carried obsession with the deep blue, a longing to dominate the food chain and look down upon all living things!
"Fine."
"Consider this the client’s requirements document."
"You’re Party A; you call the shots."
Turned out they didn’t want to "aim for eternity"—just to throw their weight around right now.
"That’ll do."
"Pan-testudines? Easy fix!"
Among top predators in pan-testudines and ichthyosaurs, one stood familiar: the BBC’s huge exaggeration—Mosasaurus.
While Smooth-side Mosasaurus wasn’t the 25-meter, 150-ton beast the BBC claimed, it still reached over six meters long and weighed three tons—comparable to a female orca. In its era, it ranked among the top marine predators.
The mosasaur family, home to Mosasaurus, birthed many ten-meter sea monsters. None exceeded fifteen meters, but they weighed around ten tons. Their impressive Head-to-body Ratio secured their place among ocean’s fiercest hunters.
"But you’re still a Phantom Dragon now."
"Evolving into a plesiosaur…"
"That’s quite a leap."
"We’ll follow the Sharovisaurus-to-pterosaur model: step by step."
(Translation: more billing cycles.)
"Then step one begins!"
"I need to hide somewhere."
"Work in silence."
By now, Trilobite neared the abandoned lake area.
In fact…
He’d overshot it slightly.
"Right here. Dig a hole and bury myself."
“Then focus on your work!”
A moment later, a “small cave” was completed.
To prevent wild animals from interrupting his “design work,” he camouflaged the entrance—as long as they didn’t step on him, all would be well.
Trilobite wrapped himself in a membrane made from "lungfish slime" secreted by his skin.
“Time to begin!”
He took up the “surgical scalpel of evolution,” making sweeping modifications to the “Phantom Dragon’s body.”
But Trilobite didn’t realize that thorough preparations rarely guaranteed success.
Misfortune arrives regardless.
The source of this misfortune was his star salesperson—Ms. Saraph.
—-
“Was it He who awakened my people?”
“Another marvel from the Giant God!?”
“Such… magnificence!”
Clad in her black attire, Saraph Arachne circled the colossal tree towering over the forsaken world.
She sensed its branches and leaves drawing energy from the void, transforming it into warm, expansive currents that fed the roots below.
Those roots, in turn, ceaselessly drew matter from the “Primal Mud” to nourish the giant tree, fueling its growth.
As the tree expanded, roots delved deeper into the “Primal Mud,” even piercing the outer shell of an ancient “Tomb.”
Energy seeping from these roots permeated the dark tomb, rousing group after group of “dehydrators.”
What stunned Saraph most was the revival of “laws” previously thrown into chaos by the Ether Sea and Primal Mud. Beneath the “Holy Tree’s” shelter, order was restored.
This meant…
“The world once lost to chaos—where mortals perished without divine rank—has been overturned!”
“The dead world breathes anew!”
“This…”
Reversing a single mortal’s fate challenged even gods; yet to reverse a world’s demise…
“The Giant God alone achieved this!”
“Why reveal such a miracle to me now? What revelation…”
Saraph paused in thought…
Suddenly, fervent light ignited in her eyes.
“No!”
“This transcends mere revelation.”
“It is a command!”
“A call to arms!”
Saraph watched her citizens emerge from the Ether Sea in waves. One group after another transformed their metallic coffins and bodies, merging into massive, elongated giant ships that gathered around the giant tree.
They gazed upon the Sacred Ground that had given them new life, feeling its flowing energy while listening to the "teachings" left by the "Holy King."
Her teachings would be shared by Saraph, their deity and the first Holy King!
“The time had come!”
“All forces against chaos must unite!”
“The rules of this world, built by the demon god with cruelty and lies, must be rewritten!”
“Under their rule, in the Chaos Swamp Realm, there was only death!”
“The Chaos false deities are a gang that destroys living civilizations!”
“They must be wiped out!”
“And I!”
“Shall start here, carrying out the great will of the Giant God!”
After declaring war to her citizens, she hugged the Holy Tree that had brought new life to the world and became part of it.
“Hmm…”
Saraph felt the thrill of turning into a towering tree, sensing every root, every branch, and every leaf of herself.
She poured her hate and passion for the Giant God into the giant tree.
Then…
“Zzz—!”
The Holy Tree began sucking in energy wildly. Its roots spread out and grew, pushing past its own limits and sending power far away.
One by one, scattered tombs stirred, and sleepers began waking up.
Group after group of metal warriors hungry for revenge started gathering.
“Begin now!”
“Children!”
“This time, we are not alone!”
“Use your strengths well!”
“Kill all the chaos you find!”
“If you feel weak, start with the demons!”
Killings and revenge slowly started around this abandoned Bubble World.
