Chapter 198
by fanqienovelChapter 198: Eat My Projectile!
“Cough cough…”
Angna wiped the blood from her mouth’s corner and stared at the shadow looming overhead.
“Thud… Thud… Thud…”
The colossal four-legged mechanical beast—resembling a five-winged dragon—shared the same stark simplicity as other constructs of the Trinitum Clan.
It lacked the chaotic spikes of demonic fiends, nor did it bear the ornate skulls and cathedrals favored by Chosen Warriors on their pauldrons.
Yet none of this diminished its might!
Its hundreds-meter frame alone dwarfed mortal resistance.
Moreover, this "mechanical avatar," like the Trinitum’s prized battleships, had its core forged from divine bones bestowed by the Great Primordial Deity.
Components untouched by godly remains were crafted from "divine metal," personally blessed by the Azure Emperor.
Even portions of its outer armor were smelted from the Azure Emperor’s own shed scales!
Its "primordial energy engine" thrummed with power. Legends claimed the sealed soul of an Ancient God—once ruler of this world—lay imprisoned at its heart.
Or at least, a fragment of it.
Trapped within, she howled with agonized hatred.
But no matter how violently she raged, escape from her fate as a living battery proved impossible.
The "primordial engine" ceaselessly siphoned energy from her soul-shards to fuel the behemoth. Once depleted, the Triton Empire would beseech the Azure Emperor for another "soul fragment" of the Ancient God.
*Clank—Clank—!*
Its mechanically articulated neck pivoted, joints screeching.
*Boom—!*
*Crash—!*
Massive claws hammered down; its tail swept wide.
Gladiators were hurled aside like ragdolls.
Though enhanced and burning with the fury of "war dogs," they stood no chance against this avatar.
Soon, the gladiator revolt lay shattered.
Yet not one hate-filled warrior dropped weapons or fled.
They fought on—all of them—redefining courage through hopeless struggle.
Finally, the "mechanical avatar’s" pilot grew weary of these scurrying ants.
Glowing red lenses fixed upon Angna.
Focusing.
Zhimach Angan, high-ranking Trinitum Clan Zhimach, locked onto the insignificant woman.
“It’s you!”
“The instigator!”
"Die!"
"Buzz—Buzz—Buzz—!"
Inside the mechanical giant dragon, the sound of massive energy transmission echoed, while light seeped through the thin gaps in its armor and skin.
Enormous energy was being constantly drawn from the "primordial engine" that sealed the "fragments of the Ancient God."
Clearly, what came next would be…
"The primordial energy breath?"
Angna didn’t shut her eyes in despair.
Instead, she tightened her grip on the greatsword and defiantly faced the "mechanical avatar."
"Thank you, Giant God, for granting me this brief yet glorious life!"
"Let me battle and die here alongside my brothers and sisters, and these fellow gladiators who’ve suffered misfortune!"
"You didn’t let me abandon them. Instead, in our final moments, you granted us this heroic and magnificent end!"
With this thought,
"Great is the Giant God!"
She charged toward the "mechanical avatar," shouting.
"You’ve done enough for us."
"Thank you, Giant God!"
"Today, right here, I’ll wield the power you gave me to honor your teachings!"
"We die standing!"
As gladiator Angna ran, she yelled to the gladiators around her…
"Brothers and sisters, charge with me!"
"This is our final glory! Our vengeance!"
"Fight to the death!"
Every gladiator—whether frozen in despair or bleeding from the ears after the sonic attack—stood tall.
Regardless of gender or species, they fell in behind her, one after another.
"Let’s fight with all we’ve got!"
"Death before surrender!"
Their war cries surged like a roaring tide!
Though mortal bodies were frail, their will—unyielding as any god’s—forged them into a raging torrent as they hurled themselves at the "mechanical avatar"!
This was a march toward death!
But it no longer mattered!
Today, the gladiators fought for their end!
"Even in death, we’ll tear a chunk from you!"
As Angna and the gladiators charged forward, a terrifying torrent of energy was preparing to unleash.
“Hehe!”
“Turn to ashes!”
“Foolish gladiator slaves!”
“Buzz—!”
The immense energy was about to pour down!
However, at that moment…
“Whoosh—!”
The sound of something slicing through the air made the mechanical being, An’ang, pause.
The giant dragon-like avatar slightly turned its eyes, then froze!
A half-destroyed battleship flew through the air in a graceful arc and crashed down hard towards it.
“Oh, Azure Emperor!”
He could only shout this before…
“Boom—!”
The sound of a huge collision rang out.
The half-battleship, like a small mountain, struck the massive avatar, forcing it to lean back violently.
“Creak—!”
The enormous body let out a metallic wail and the sound of breaking, then collapsed heavily to the ground with the battleship!
“Boom—!”
The earth shook, and dust rose!
Meanwhile, the “Chaos Energy breath” shot out with a buzz, soaring towards the sky.
Aside from blasting a large hole in the clouds above, it hit nothing else!
“Crash—!”
A rain of metallic shards fell to the ground.
The charging gladiators had to scatter again, seeking cover.
Some had their faces cut and heads broken by the metal debris, and were bruised and swollen.
But no one complained.
Because they all knew that only the “Giant God” had such power, easily defeating the mechanical avatar they could not face!
“Long live the Giant God!”
“Great is the Giant God!”
The gladiators knelt before this miracle that had descended from the sky.
"Cough, cough…"
As Zhimach Angan crawled out of the cockpit and collapsed face-first…
"Bang—!"
A crimson greatsword slammed into the ground before him.
"Now you face judgment!"
"Pshhh—!"
The blade flashed down.
The high-ranking Trinitum Clan member who’d just escaped death now lost his head.
Yet at that moment…
"Buzz—!"
The wingless dragon-shaped mechanical avatar hummed to life again.
Its dimmed eyes reignited with light!
Gladiators stumbled backward in shock.
"What’s happening?"
"Another Trinitum Clan trick?"
"It’s still alive!?"
Angna raised her hand, cutting short their panic.
"No…"
"It calls to me!"
—-
"Good, good."
"My aim held true."
Trilobite nodded happily at the distant crash.
Though "throwing" wasn’t quite the word.
His body structure made true throws impossible.
Though his primitive Gasmarosaurus form had grasping claws, his crocodilian build couldn’t manage throwing motions.
But why fret?
Who needed hands to throw?
Irritated by the interruption during his meal, he’d snatched the half-eaten fish in his jaws and whipped it toward the noise.
"Hitting the mark like that…"
"The Dice Goddess favors me!"
"Well then…"
"Back to eating!"
Most fish in this inlet were gone.
Soon he’d hunt ashore for more.
But then…
[Beep—!]
The system chimed.
[Devoted One detected with compatible symbiotic creature.]
[Initiate fusion!?]
"Hm?"
Trilobite’s interest sparked instantly.
"Oho! Unlocking all CGs for that lady?"
"Perfect!"
He opened the interface. The portrait of the brown-skinned, light-haired woman flashed.
"Well, no need to hesitate."
"Proceed!"
"The dance of fungi and ancient bacteria!"
"Buzz—!"
The system shimmered.
New life blossomed!
"This is…"
Trilobite studied the system’s encyclopedia, deep in thought.
