Chapter 362
by fanqienovelChapter 362: Body Refinement Awakening
In the blink of an eye, eight days passed, and Li Hui smiled wryly.
After clearing out Dragon Ruins Pond and helping Guan Tianyou handle the Yinkui Dragon, who would have thought that the Surveillance Pavilion had set up a void track? With a loud "bang," they had traveled thousands of miles away. By the time they realized something was off, they had already come "bang bang" several times, fleeing from near Ruijin City to the distant Jieshi City by the East Sea.
On the coast of the East Sea in the Daxia region, Jieshi City wasn’t a royal city, but it was still considerable in scale.
Li Hui wanted to go back, but Guan Tianyou, with a sorrowful face, said, “Junior Brother, why didn’t you say so earlier? Do you know how much stardust and Miao Jade it takes for this trip? The travel expenses that the sect advanced aren’t enough to get us back! I’m not being stingy; it’s just not enough! Unless you can produce a substantial amount of stardust, you can skip the Miao Jade.”
“How would I have stardust? If I had known that stuff was useful, I should have prepared some in advance.”
“Exactly! We’ll have to find a way back later. Senior Sister Chuchu has dealt with the biggest trouble in Ruijin City. It’s safe over there, but Jieshi City is much trickier. There are many sewers nearby, and the sea beasts are undergoing transformations. Who knows if this city can hold on?” Guan Tianyou sighed.
“Isn’t Jin Tian Sect responsible for protecting Daxia? What about the others? Are we the only ones busy?”
“Ah! Junior Brother, you don’t know.” Guan Tianyou shook his head and explained, “The whole sect, from top to bottom, has the elder and Third Brother; no one knows if they’re alive. There’s one sect leader, six elders, thirty-six personal and true disciples, two hundred inner sect disciples, and five hundred outer disciples.”
“And then?” Li Hui stared wide-eyed.
“What do you mean, and then? That’s it! Together, everyone in the sect adds up to fewer than eight hundred people. Even counting the Mirror Lake faction’s disciples out monitoring the sect, it’s actually impressive to gather two hundred people for a major event! As for other branches, they have their roles. The main sect doesn’t have any miscellaneous disciples. And just so you know, Senior Sister Chuchu is an inner sect disciple, not a true disciple! Our Jin Tian Sect’s true disciples can’t be that weak. They must at least reach the All-Manifestation Realm and pass numerous tests; if they fail, they go to the branches.”
“Is the competition really that fierce?”
“Of course! But it’s fierce outwardly, not inwardly. For example, Senior Sister Chuchu subduing a Yinkui Dragon can accumulate corresponding achievements, and the rankings depend on who has the higher accomplishments.”
“Uh, that sounds pretty good. Can we outer disciples become inner disciples?” Li Hui felt his heart stir, thinking that Jin Tian Sect was indeed the right place for him—clean, simple, and free of scheming, just like the Mirror Lake faction, which had only one disciple per generation to minimize internal conflicts. Of course, he didn’t really know the actual situation; it was just a guess.
“Of course, but Junior Brother must advance to the Bosa stage before twenty-three and accumulate enough accomplishments to gain recognition from the sect several times, potentially even up to ten times, to have a chance at becoming an inner sect disciple. As for true disciples, they need to reach the All-Manifestation Realm before thirty and must clear numerous obstacles, slay demons, and eliminate all that is discordant in the world to have a hope of standing at the pinnacle, becoming a revered cultivator on the continent!”
“Is it really that hard?” Li Hui suddenly clenched his fist. “Okay, I will work hard toward this direction. Brother, tell me more about the ceremony!”
“What ceremony? I haven’t heard that the sect is holding a ceremony! Everyone is busy running around; who has time to hold a ceremony? With the world in chaos, inner disciples like Senior Sister Chuchu are running everywhere to accumulate achievements, fearing someone might surpass them. True disciples go to even more violent places; they probably don’t even have time to drink a cup of cool water. The sect rarely holds ceremonies. If someone dares to take advantage of Jin Tian Sect’s name to swindle, once verified, it will be a severe punishment.”
“Is it possible that a branch is holding a ceremony?”
“Oh! That could be it, because the main sect has freed up more than a dozen spots for outer disciples, so everyone is trying to squeeze in. They like to create formalities; competing in magic to decide quotas isn’t surprising.”
And so, Li Hui settled down, practicing, asking questions, and making talismans.
Huo Qiniang, Chef Zhao, and Song Zining stayed in Ruijin City, and Huang Shiqin and others were also in Ruijin City, hinting that everyone would have to part ways for a while.
Fortunately! Mingming, Zhong Yuan, Jin Feng, Wuchun, Sanxiang, Ma Chunlan, and Deng Shuqing were all practicing in the Mysterious Pearl, and they found a little beggar named Gu Yuan in Ruijin City.
With them by his side, they supervised and guided his cultivation every day, teaching him talisman methods. Li Hui dedicated himself, as he had inherited the teachings of the Jade Symbol Sect. He felt as if great fortune was building up, and once these people grew to a certain level, it might stir some change.
On the ninth day in Jieshi City, Chuchu appeared holding the Bagua Reincarnation Stone.
This stone was exactly what they obtained from the Yinkui Dragon’s lair and was said to have unbelievable effects. It could stabilize the heavens, control Yin and Yang, and even revive the dead, making it quite magical.
“Handsome Junior Brother, take out those two refined bodies; I want to summon them to aid in battle.”
“Ah?” Li Hui quickly understood, surprised yet delighted. “Senior Sister Chuchu can awaken Senior Sister Lian and Junior Sister Qian Qiu?”
“It wasn’t possible before, but now that we have this Bagua Reincarnation Stone, repairing their refined bodies will be effortless.” Chuchu’s hair was always messy, and she spoke very directly, never beating around the bush.
“Alright!” Li Hui hurriedly took out the two refined bodies. Lian Luosha and Qian Qiu Yue seemed to look much stronger than before, though there were no signs of awakening. Chuchu flipped her hand and sent the Bagua Reincarnation Stone soaring.
This stone was flat, naturally forming a Bagua pattern, hovering in mid-air as it revolved, instantly creating a sense of chaos between Yin and Yang, as if reincarnation was occurring, bringing forth a multitude of perceptions that he couldn’t quite grasp.
“Get up; stop pretending.” Chuchu called with her hands on her hips.
Lian Luosha and Qian Qiu Yue slowly rose, looking at each other with sparks flying between them before they huffed and turned away, unwilling to face one another.
“Is this really happening?” Li Hui rushed forward to pay his respects.
“Junior Brother!” The two women said in unison. Lian Luosha, fiery as ever, retorted, “He is my Junior Brother, not yours; don’t meddle and cause trouble.”
Qian Qiu Yue coldly laughed, “Ji Luosha, your refined body is still lacking! You need to go back and practice for ten more years. I want to lead Li Junior Brother into the Heart Refining Branch; I’ve already arranged his future path. The Water’s Edge Branch is holding a ceremony, and I will do everything I can to secure a spot for my Junior Brother.”
“We’re a small sect; there’s no need for you to make a scene. Naturally, I’ll arrange everything for Junior Brother; go find your Prince Charming…” Before Lian Luosha could finish her sentence, Chuchu stamped her foot and interjected, “Shut up! You don’t have the right to be his Senior Sister. He’s already become a disciple of the Mirror Lake faction, accumulating accomplishments with me. When the time is right, he can enter the inner sect. By then, you’ll both be Junior Sisters, washing clothes and pounding backs—can’t you handle that?”
“Uh! You are Chuchu!” The two women realized and looked slightly odd.
“That’s right, I am Chuchu! You have three days to gather your people and move to Jieshi City. If you don’t come, I’ll come knocking on your door. The deadline is three days!”
