    Chapter 351: Please Decide, Master

Outside the Demon Hall, the demon tribes had waited for several days when they finally saw the door open.

The demons rejoiced. Though no formal announcement was made, every demon had sensed the stirring of Demonic Energy the moment the Demon God awoke. As the sole deity of their kind and master of the Demon Realm, his awakening brought celebration across the land. The very air grew thick with Demonic Energy, and many felt their cultivation surge abruptly—a gift from their master, more perceptible to higher-ranking demons.

The Demon Realm buzzed with activity as factions stirred with ambition. The master’s return marked their greatest opportunity. Days earlier, city lords and Celestial Demons had gathered outside the Demon Hall, awaiting summons. Yet they waited in vain until the doors finally creaked open.

Though eager to enter, the demons hesitated, fearing disrespect. Gong Xi, the Demon King, chose nine of the most powerful to accompany her inside.

The group walked through the vast hall, their hearts a mix of excitement and dread. Gong Xi, however, wore deeper worry. She touched the Demon King’s seal on her hand, her unease growing heavier.

At the hall’s far end, they glimpsed the figure seated high above. An overwhelming Pressure crashed over them, searing into their soul essence and quelling all resistance. Their Demonic Energy trembled as they dropped to their knees, foreheads pressed to the floor.

“Demon King Gong Xi, with the city lords, pays homage to our master!” she forced out, battling her fear.

Silence gripped the hall. No one dared move until a cold voice finally replied:

    “Mm.”

The Pressure eased slightly, allowing them to rise—though none dared look up. After exchanging glances, a demon on the left stepped forward.

“Master, your awakening blesses us all. The Long Clan pledges unwavering service to ensure the demon tribes’ eternal glory!”

Others quickly echoed: “We pledge our lives to your cause!”

    Only silence answered.

Long Zhen’s anxiety grew. Unlike the rest, he’d witnessed the awakening firsthand. He knew this Demon God’s original body hailed from the Feng Clan—a fact that haunted him, given the Long Clan’s past schemes against them. Though their leader Long Ting was dead, he feared retribution.

Desperate to test the waters, he pressed on: “Master, though our origins differ, the Long Clan has labored for centuries to strengthen our tribes. With your return, now is the time to strike the Three Realms!”

Eyes lit up across the hall as others clamored:

“Dongjiang Demon City volunteers as your vanguard!”

    “Milun Demon City stands ready!”

    “Biguang City awaits your command!”

Gong Xi cut in: “No! We cannot attack the Three Realms!”

“Why not?” The crowd turned to her.

Long Zhen narrowed his eyes. “City Lord Gong, our master granted you the title of Demon King. Yet you shrink from unifying the Six Realms? Are you cowardly?”

Gong Xi clenched her jaw. The Long Clan’s surviving Bone Dragons had never accepted her rule. This was another ploy to undermine her.

“Master,” she said, “the Three Realms are guarded by the Divine Clan. Our forces still reel from losses at Demon Ghost Mountain. To attack now would be reckless.”

Long Zhen scoffed. “With our master’s might, what are gods to us? Sacrifices at Demon Ghost Mountain were honorable! Should our master remain confined to one realm?”

“Our master’s authority is unquestioned across the Six Realms!” Gong Xi shot back. “Do you imply otherwise?”

“Enough!” Long Zhen turned upward. “Master, the moment to strike is now!”

“The Demon Realm must recover first,” Gong Xi countered.

The eight other city lords split between them. When no consensus emerged, all bowed and chorused: “We await your decree, Master!”

    Silence.

Long Zhen tried again, louder: “We await your decree!”

    Still nothing.

After a tense pause, the demons risked glancing up.

There, atop the divine throne, sat a figure in crimson robes, radiating terrifying Pressure. Leaning sideways, one hand propping her head, she stared vacantly leftward. Her breathtaking face bore a dazed smile as strange giggles escaped:

    “Hehehe… hehe… heh…”

    Gong Xi: “……”

    Long Zhen: “……”

    Demons: “……”

This… was an idiot’s grin. No doubt.
