Chapter 711
by fanqienovelChapter 711: Entering the Dragon Tomb
Tempted by the Dragon Tomb’s treasures and Fang Lie’s treasured items, the four men abandoned their treasure hunt. After a quick search, they secretly returned to set up surveillance around the tomb to block escaping demons, then lay in ambush for emerging Great Demons.
Meanwhile, Huangxu’s group safely reached the Dragon Tomb. Using a dragon talisman, they activated the Teleportation Gate and entered.
Emerging from the Space Gate, they found themselves in an otherworldly landscape – endless white desert beneath their feet. The glowing sand particles resembled celestial stars, while the air thrummed with Star Power.
Huangxu exclaimed excitedly, "This is it! Star-imbued sands calming departed souls. Deep within lie nearly thousand dragons – weakest being Tenth-Rank, including three Earth-Immortal Dragon Emperors of Twelfth-Rank!"
"Impressive scale!" Huangchun marveled, sifting sand through his fingers. "Star sand forged over eons in Ninth Heavens. One handful crafts decent treasures. We struggle to find grains outside, yet here it carpets the ground!"
"Because Dragon Clan hoarded it all here," Huangxu chuckled.
"Why not take extra?" A Great Demon suggested eagerly. "Even unused, Seventh-Rank materials fetch good prices!"
"Madness!" Both leaders barked simultaneously.
"This is Dragon Tomb!" Huangxu growled. "Disturb one grain and guardian puppets will execute you as grave robbers – dragon talisman won’t save you!"
"Touch nothing," Huangchun warned. "Not sand nor vegetation. Any theft brings disaster."
"Then why come?" The demon grumbled.
"Fool!" Huangchun snapped. "What’s eaten properly escapes detection."
"Actually digest it – no stomach-hiding tricks," Huangxu added. "Puppets detect all concealed items. No exceptions."
"Truly nothing removable?" Younger demons gazed wistfully at riches.
"Our ancestors tried smuggling during corpse deliveries," Huangchun said coldly. "All died instantly. This isn’t jest."
"Dragon Clan leaves no loopholes," the demon sighed.
"Would anything remain if they did?" Huangxu retorted scornfully.
"What about Fang Lie’s possessions?" Another demon pressed. "Dead men need no treasures."
"Exactly! He flaunted Eighth-Rank warships and protective treasures. Must we return these to Mo Sect?" His companion argued. "Our clan starves!"
Huangxu and Huangchun exchanged pained glances.
"Fang Lie dealt fairly," Huangxu sighed. "No bullying, kept promises. Rare human decency. Yet we’ll betray him."
"Poverty dictates this," Huangchun shrugged. "His misfortune, trusting us."
"He chose between us and murderous Human Tribe," another demon chuckled. "Uncles, check his Space Treasure!"
Huangxu broke Fang Lie’s seal with ease. Scanning inside, he gasped: "Mountains of spirit stones! Heaps of high-rank materials! Dozens of treasures!"
"Spirit pearls?" Huangchun demanded. "Medium ones for cultivation? Large ones?"
"None," Huangxu frowned. "No pearls at all – not even currency-sized small ones."
"Impossible!" Huangchun cried. "He should’ve carried pearls!"
Suddenly, a Figure shot from the treasure bracelet – Fang Lie himself materialized before them.
"Greetings," Fang Lie smiled. "Miss me?"
"Ah!" Fang Lie’s sudden appearance startled the four demon army members, making them scream.
"You… you… you’re not dead?" Huangxu stammered in shock.
"What? Were you hoping I’d die?" Fang Lie replied with a grin.
He’d overheard their entire conversation earlier, which had infuriated him. Fortunately, he’d kept an ace up his sleeve – otherwise he would’ve suffered greatly.
If not for needing these scoundrels for his plans, Fang Lie would’ve shown his skills and killed them immediately. But considering the bigger picture, he swallowed his anger and kept a calm face.
The four demons grew visibly nervous. Though unsure if Fang Lie had heard their earlier remarks, they knew violating someone’s storage treasures was taboo – enough reason for Fang Lie to exterminate them.
Despite their superior cultivation levels, they understood even combined they couldn’t match Fang Lie’s strength. Those three hundred clones alone made resistance impossible.
Huangxu awkwardly chuckled, "We were just… uh… checking your belongings! No intention to steal!"
"Exactly!" Huangchun chimed in hastily, "We planned to return everything to Mo Sect! Now that you’re alive, we’ll save the trouble! Here, take your treasure back!"
He urgently nudged Huangxu, who hurriedly returned the spatial bracelet with forced cheer: "Master Fang’s survival proves his unmatched power! We’re not worthy to compare!"
"Truly, surviving calamity brings fortune!" Huangchun flattered, "This expedition will surely bring you great rewards!"
Fang Lie smiled as he reclaimed his bracelet. With a sudden gesture, three hundred clones materialized – causing the demons to flinch, fearing attack.
"May your words bear fruit," Fang Lie said calmly, "Let’s all gain from this venture."
The demons wiped cold sweat, relieved at surviving. Fang Lie secretly enjoyed their fear – though sparing them, he’d needed this small revenge.
"Now," he addressed them seriously, "tell me – any remaining dangers here?"
Huangxu eagerly explained, "Dragon Clan experts set Immortal seals around their corpses as final protection. Avoid those areas and we’re safe."
"But how obtain Dragon Clan blood essence then?" Fang Lie frowned.
"Those who died outside battles lack such Protectiveness!" Huangchun interjected, "Our ancestors carried those corpses in – we can harvest those freely!"
Fang Lie’s eyes gleamed. "Skin them? Extract tendons?"
The Dragon Clan’s entire body offered treasure – bones, blood, flesh, and sinews all being high-rank materials for alchemy and treasure-crafting. Such rare resources would be priceless.
