    Chapter 669: Something Feels Off!

    "Tap, tap, tap."

The rhythmic click of high heels echoed through the corridor, growing steadily nearer.

The sharp staccato striking against ceramic tiles betrayed a visitor who couldn’t possibly be a student.

Yet Lolth pondered briefly – this couldn’t be their homeroom teacher either.

Her homeroom teacher was a flat-shoed matron well past her youth.

    But then…

Who else would visit during morning study hour?

Twisting water from her damp locks in abstracted motions, Lolth turned toward the doorway.

    The figure that entered then…

Was a woman of impossible beauty.

Porcelain skin without blemish, moon-pale hair cascading like liquid silk, eyes holding the deep fire of emeralds.

Features carved with such precision they challenged nature’s craftsmanship.

Yet more arresting than her face was her form –

A waist slender enough to span with hands, contrasting dramatically with voluptuous curves.

Even in this girls’ academy, every gaze magnetized toward that striking silhouette.

The ordinary office ensemble – pencil skirt and sheer stockings – became instruments of allure on her frame.

An ethereal presence beyond mortal realms.

For suspended moments, the classroom air hung still.

    "Dear gods…"

A breathless whisper escaped some enthralled soul.

    Lolth sat transfixed, pupils dilated.

"The new teacher? She’s… enchantingly sensual…"

    She murmured without thinking.

Isabella nearby emitted a derisive sniff.

    "Hardly remarkable."

"Just marginally better features, slightly sharper curves, mildly glossier hair – nothing extraordinary."

Her acidic tone dripped with inexplicable animosity.

Lolth shot her a puzzled glance.

Isabella responded with an eyeroll before jerking her face away.

Meanwhile, the radiant newcomer steadied herself behind the lectern and cleared her throat.

    "So…"

Her voice flowed like a crystal mountain stream, refreshing and melodious.

"Your homeroom teacher is unwell today and has taken a leave of absence…"

"I’ll be your substitute teacher… You may address me as Tina."

She turned as she spoke, etching her name across the blackboard in graceful strokes.

"That’s quite a lovely name too!"

Lolth blurted out before she could stop herself.

The new teacher settled at the front desk, the morning self-study session requiring little formal instruction.

After stealing a few more curious glances, Lolth slumped behind her fortress of upright textbooks as usual.

"I’m dozing off now. Nudge me if the teacher comes back here," she whispered to Isabella, who was dutifully holding her book while peeking sideways.

A prolonged pause hung between them before Isabella finally breathed,

    "Alright."

At this response, Lolth raised her head just enough to flash a grin and thumbs-up at her companion before face-planting back onto the desk.

The murmur of classmates reciting and the teacher’s lecturing formed the finest lullaby in the world. Within three heartbeats of resting her cheek against the wooden surface, Lolth felt consciousness slipping away.

Drowsiness surged over her like an inexorable tide, engulfing her senses completely.

    Then…

    She plunged into oblivion.

    Until abruptly—

    "Wait, this isn’t right!!!"

The sleeping Lolth’s instincts blared alarms within the dreamscape.

"I crossed millennia ago… Why am I suddenly back in school?!"

"Since when does Isabella share my desk…?"

"Tina’s clearly an elf, yet became our teacher… And I never questioned it?!"

"Is this the Deceptive Demon God’s scheme?! Or some new entity’s work?"

    "When was I ensnared?!"

"Is this an illusionary realm… or have my own memories been altered?!"

Though fully conscious now, Lolth kept her eyes shut tight, fearing that opening them might plunge her back into the fabricated reality.

It was then that a composed voice broke through the silence.

"Don’t worry, my dear sister, you’re ‘safe’ for the time being."

"This is indeed the work of the ‘Cunning Demon God’ Noloranti… To be precise, this is ‘His God’s Domain’."

Xiletor’s voice resonated through the space.

Lolth turned to find her elder sister dressed in the same office attire as Tina, casually perched on a chair with legs crossed, observing her with an amused expression.

The dreamscape stretched pristine and white, its emptiness broken only by Xile No 2 seated regally upon her solitary throne-like chair.

"Since you recognized the ‘Cunning Demon God’s’ interference, you could’ve at least warned me," Lolth complained, massaging her temples. "Though I’m surprised it still possesses strength for counterattacks…"

"You never intended to eliminate all its avatars at this juncture anyway," Xiletor chuckled, her laughter echoing strangely in the blankness. "My dear foolish いもうと… This is the inevitable price when manipulating ‘divine’ entities as pawns in your schemes."

    "Tch… Whatever."

Lolth smoothed her hair in tacit agreement with Xile No 2’s assessment. Her elder sister’s uncanny perception remained as irritatingly accurate as ever.

For the Spider Queen, the Hellish Demon God indeed represented an essential strand in the chaotic web she sought to preserve. Confrontation would come…

    But not yet.

    "So what’s our move now?"

She directed the question at Xiletor, who merely shrugged.

"Why consult me? This predicament is yours alone… Buying you contemplation time within God’s Domain already strains my limits – we’re dealing with an Infernal Demon God here!"

The silver-haired woman spread her hands in exaggerated helplessness.

"My current guarantee extends only to shielding your consciousness from His ‘deceptions’ during transitional states."

"So my deduction holds – awakening will erase all dream memories?"

At Lolth’s murmur, Xiletor inclined her head.

"Precisely. However… Strategic modifications to your subconscious could influence actions within His Domain."

"Though your expertise in spiritual matters remains… shall we say, unpolished…"

    Xiletor’s pause carried deliberate weight.

"…Surely even you grasp basic ‘mental suggestion’ techniques?"

"Moreover – you must have noticed these phantasms reflect your own perceptions."

    "Oh… I see…"

Lolth’s frown deepened. Any strategies devised here would vanish upon waking, yet preconfigured subconscious triggers might still steer her dream-self’s actions – perhaps even ripple into material reality!
