Chapter 241
by post_apiChapter 241: Locking in on the Killer
Zhang Yang felt as if he had fallen into a vast web.
He strongly suspected that the person behind the attack might have considered the Green Sparrow Palace as well.
After all, the Green Sparrow Palace needed the Great Path Sacred Fruit, and he would undoubtedly provide it.
If that were the case, the attacker must have been aware that the palace master was still alive. This was not common knowledge—unless it was an intelligence organization.
That meant the Moonview Tower or the Embrace Moon Tower.
Present at the time were the Third Elder, Yilie, from the Moonview Tower, and the Grand Elder, Su Baishi, from the Embrace Moon Tower.
This significantly narrowed down the suspects.
"Yilie!"
Before long, Zhang Yang reached a conclusion.
The Embrace Moon Tower had sent Qiu Yuwan and a team to seize the Great Path Sacred Fruit within the Daybreak Phoenix Ruins.
On the Moonview Tower’s side, Yilie, the first assassin, Zhuo Yutang, and the others had deliberately chosen to stay behind rather than leave. This indicated that if Yilie was still after the Great Path Sacred Fruit, she must have made arrangements in advance.
Thus, the likelihood of Yilie’s involvement was the highest.
"If it’s her, then she won’t take long to arrive."
"I need to prepare—at the very least, I must first lift the restrictions of this holy power’s forbidden laws."
"No matter who makes a move, with the power of the Green Sparrow Palace and Bing Yuyan present, a saint cannot act openly. That makes things easier."
"For now, I only need to break the holy power’s forbidden laws."
"As for Yilie or Mu Lanxin, neither of them can break this, and if they try to interfere, it could put them in danger—since this involves my dantian."
Zhang Yang sank into deep thought.
He attempted to activate the fully developed Diamond Dragon Holy Power within his dantian, but it was difficult to move.
The Nine Extremes True Essence was severely restricted—and done so cleverly. It wasn’t entirely unusable, but reduced to just one-third of its power, making it difficult to notice under normal circumstances.
After all, who would randomly test the limits of their Nine Extremes True Essence during regular times?
But he had noticed it while cultivating.
That meant she would arrive soon.
"If she doesn’t come today, she will certainly come tomorrow or the day after."
"I’d better resolve this within that time."
Zhang Yang continued contemplating ways to break the forbidden law.
He lost track of time in the process.
After all, this was a saint’s forbidden law—breaking it was no easy feat.
By evening, an eleven or twelve-year-old girl peeked into his room.
The girl, delicate and lovely, seemed a bit shy upon seeing Zhang Yang.
"Is something wrong?" Zhang Yang asked with a smile.
The little girl hesitated before speaking timidly, "Brother, my name is Little Sparrow. I’m from the Green Sparrow Palace. Can you help Sister Yue’er?"
Zhang Yang was surprised. This was the Green Sparrow Palace—why were they seeking his help? Was her injury untreatable?
"Tell me what happened," he said.
"Can we go first? I’ll explain on the way—Sister Yue’er can’t hold on much longer," Little Sparrow said anxiously.
"Alright," Zhang Yang nodded.
Tears welled up in Little Sparrow’s eyes as she cried out joyfully, "Thank you, brother! Thank you!"
Zhang Yang patted her head.
Little Sparrow ran ahead, explaining the situation in bits and pieces.
It turned out that Huang Yue’er, a disciple of the Green Sparrow Palace, had been training outside when someone from the Forbidden Land emerged and severely injured her, leaving her on the brink of death.
The Great Boundless Elders of the Green Sparrow Palace were all preoccupied and had strictly forbidden disturbances. The Small Boundless Guardian was unable to provide any healing pills because Huang Yue’er’s injuries were too severe.
Someone had suggested seeking Zhang Yang’s help, but they feared he might refuse and felt awkward about asking. So, they sent Little Sparrow to test the waters.
When Zhang Yang arrived, he found a large group of women gathered inside.
There were both young and old, talking nonstop, creating an oppressive and gloomy atmosphere.
Upon seeing Zhang Yang, they all willingly stepped aside to make way for him.
A Small Boundless Guardian stepped forward to greet him.
Zhang Yang waved his hand dismissively. "Save her first."
He stepped into the room.
On the bed lay a young girl, severely injured. Wounds covered her chest, abdomen, shoulders, and forehead—all life-threatening.
"Is there still hope…?" a woman asked in a trembling voice.
Zhang Yang casually took out a small porcelain bottle, uncorked it, and a refreshing fragrance filled the air.
The women gasped in astonishment.
"The Sacred Life Water!"
Someone with experience exclaimed in shock.
Zhang Yang let a drop of Sacred Life Water fall onto Huang Yue’er’s forehead, then placed a healing pill in her mouth.
He had plenty of pills.
After the last battle at Falling Phoenix Valley, he had received an enormous amount from the Three Thousand Alchemists, plundered by Yuluan and the Flower Phantom.
Though he had only obtained a small portion, it still amounted to over a thousand various pills, including more than ten different life-saving types—totaling over a hundred pills.
As he watched, Huang Yue’er’s breathing stabilized, and her life signs rapidly strengthened. Even her wounds began healing at a visible speed.
The women of the Green Sparrow Palace were overjoyed.
Little Sparrow cried tears of happiness. "Thank you, brother! Thank you!"
Zhang Yang smiled, patted her head, and handed her the bottle of Sacred Life Water. "Here, it’s a gift for you. Don’t hesitate to use it. If you run out, just ask for more—I have plenty."
He still had two more bottles.
Little Sparrow’s eyes widened in disbelief.
The women of the Green Sparrow Palace also turned to Zhang Yang in astonishment.
This was the Sacred Life Water!
"Alright, I’ll head back now," Zhang Yang said, suddenly recalling something. "If that so-called Thunder Wolf returns to cause trouble, let me know. I’ll take care of him."
Little Sparrow nodded quickly.
One of the women scoffed. "Thunder Wolf? More like a thunder dog! He’s from the Heavenly Dog Clan in the Forbidden Land. For some reason, he gained a bit of power in the Realm of Thunder and started calling himself Thunder Wolf."
"Oh? The Realm of Thunder?" Zhang Yang responded with interest.
Little Sparrow immediately added, "I know! The Realm of Thunder is the mountain between here and the Forbidden Land. There’s an image on the cliff that can unleash terrifying thunder power. I heard the elders say it’s far beyond Great Boundless strength. Even they don’t dare to approach it, and the people from the Forbidden Land won’t go near it either. I just don’t know how that dog managed to gain any power there."
The Realm of Thunder!
Power beyond Great Boundless!
Zhang Yang’s heart raced. Others feared the Realm of Thunder, but that didn’t mean he did.
Currently, his Slaughter Thunder Power had been cultivated to the level of Quasi-Holy Power within the Daybreak Phoenix Ruins, just half a step away from transforming into Slaughter Thunder Saint Power.
A place like that could be a great opportunity for him.
He even wondered if the holy power’s forbidden laws in his dantian could be erased in the process.
He wanted to check out the Realm of Thunder.
Just as he was about to find someone to guide him, a woman rushed in, shouting, "This is bad! That dog is back again! He’s demanding that Sister Yue’er come out and fight!"
Zhang Yang frowned. This was pure bullying, especially towards a woman.
He also took note of the situation within the Green Sparrow Palace.
The Green Sparrow Palace Master was not dead, but the Great Boundless Elders were all focused on saving him and had no time to spare. The Small Boundless Guardian was left to manage internal affairs, but clearly, the palace was in a dire situation—allowing that dog from the Forbidden Land to act so provocatively.
"Leave this to me."
Zhang Yang quickly stepped outside.
Many women followed behind him.
Outside, he saw a young man crackling with lightning, boasting loudly and cursing. When he saw Zhang Yang emerge, he paused momentarily before sneering.
"I thought the women of the Green Sparrow Palace were pure, but they’re just a bunch of desperate whores! Hahaha! I’m a man too, and I’m strong. Want to give it a try—"
Slap!
Before he could finish his sentence, a loud slap resounded.
The young man spun through the air several times before crashing to the ground, spitting blood and losing several teeth.
"You dare hit me?! I’ll fight you!" the man shouted wildly, his body crackling with lightning as he lunged at Zhang Yang.
Boom!
Zhang Yang grasped his neck effortlessly and sneered. "Your lightning is too weak; it’s not even worth my effort."
He completely ignored the man’s struggles and didn’t even bother using his Slaughter Thunder Power, knowing the gap between their strengths was far too vast.
"Don’t kill me! It was Prince Sparrow who sent me to provoke you!" the man screamed in fear. "Help!"
"Who dares to harm a member of my Heavenly Dog Clan?"
Suddenly, a figure flashed into view—a Small Boundless cultivator.
As he arrived, a Great Boundless War Statue appeared before him.
Boom!
The Great Boundless War Statue smashed down, instantly killing the Small Boundless from the Heavenly Dog Clan.
This brutal display of power nearly made the young man wet himself in terror.
Zhang Yang released the man’s neck and said coldly, "Let’s go. Take me to the Realm of Thunder."
