Chapter 710
by fanqienovelChapter 710: Innate Spiritual Body
“It’s not like I’ve never seen a woman before. Why so excited?” Ye Yun slowly opened his eyes, a faint thunderous mark flickering within them before vanishing, restoring his usual calm. He gazed at the forest ahead, spreading his spirit perception.
“Hah! If you knew their physiques, you wouldn’t say that.” With Ye Yun’s current mental power, only an Earth Immortal realm expert—or a saint specializing in spiritual cultivation techniques—could detect him.
Ye Yun observed the two girls. The shorter one had a pure, delicate face and wore a robe embroidered with stars and moons. Its unceasing fairy dao aura proved it was no ordinary garment but a top-quality Immortal artifact.
The other, clad in white, exuded a frosty aura that subtly froze her path. Though it didn’t affect the surroundings, Ye Yun’s keen senses caught it. His heart stirred—her cultivation level seemed to surpass the Nascent Soul stage.
Moreover, she appeared younger than him. He sighed inwardly, “This world never lacks geniuses. To stumble upon such an extraordinary one so casually…”
“Someone’s here!” The girl paused mid-laughter, her earlobe twitching. With a raised brow, she conjured a whirlwind of energy and hurled it toward Ye Yun’s seated figure.
“Her spirit perception is remarkably precise.” Ye Yun had intentionally left a flaw to test her. Now, he grimaced—her combat instincts were sharp.
*Crack!*
As the whirlwind neared, Ye Yun’s mental power surged like invisible hands, crushing it effortlessly.
The Ancestor of the Sword Path’s voice rang out, awed. “I thought the innate spiritual body in the Xumi Treasure was rare, but these two—a Stellar Body and a Nine Yin Body! When did my luck grow so splendid?”
The Ancestor’s tone turned earnest. “That girl was toying with you. Without a supreme Immortal artifact, you’d struggle to match her.”
“Right, right.” Ye Yun nodded absently, watching the approaching duo. How to explain his intrusive spirit perception?
“They’re here,” the Ancestor muttered, scrutinizing the girls. His interest lay not in them but their legendary physiques.
“Just a wandering cultivator meditating. Not worth fussing over.” The girl pushed aside the bushes, dismissing Ye Yun. Her companion, however, eyed him warily. “Sister, be cautious. He blocked your attack despite being at the Nascent Soul stage.”
“Pah! I barely tried. If I got serious, a Fourth Level Nascent Soul ant would vanish instantly!” The girl glared at Ye Yun, as if willing him to drop his act.
“Caught me,” Ye Yun said with a rueful smile.
“Your act was terrible. No qi or spiritual power fluctuations? Either you’re dead or hiding your aura.” She strode forward, Earth Immortal-level qi flaring before dispersing.
The older girl cut in, her tone seasoned. “Blocking her so easily means you’re no ordinary Fourth Level cultivator.”
Ye Yun shrugged. “A harmless prank. No harm done.”
“Yingying, you’re overestimating him! If I’d tried, he’d have lost in an instant!” the younger girl huffed.
*Ling’er?* Ye Yun stifled a reaction. First Su Ling, then Golden Ling’er, now another? Was fate binding him to Ling’ers?
Masking his thoughts, he said, “You’re nearing the pinnacle of the Nascent Soul stage, aren’t you? Let’s spar. I want to test my limits.”
His words held half-truths. Freshly advanced to the Fourth Level, he itched to gauge his combat power. With treasures like the Fire Dragon Whip and Purple Shadow Divine Sword, he’d fought peak Nascent Soul experts. Could he challenge a quasi-Earth Immortal?
Ling’er clapped, delighted. “Boring journey, perfect timing! Let’s play!”
She raised a hand, her qi surging like a tidal wave.
Ye Yun smiled, producing four green Round Stones. “How about this? We each control two. Highest elevation wins.”
Ling’er snatched two stones, weighing them mockingly. “Clever trick. But I’ll crush you anyway!”
The girl finished speaking and infused her true qi into the green Round Stone. Suddenly, before she could launch it into the sky, a sharp *crack* echoed as the first stone began fracturing. With another surge of her true qi, it finally shattered into dust in her palm.
"What a worthless rock! It broke so easily!" She clapped her hands free of debris, ready to angrily confront Ye Yun, only to find him calmly channeling true qi into two Round Stones that floated effortlessly into the air.
Watching his success, the girl scowled and stomped her foot. She carefully infused another Round Stone with true qi, grinning triumphantly when it rose unbroken. She shot Ye Yun a smug look.
*Bang!*
Before her stone could ascend further, Ye Yun’s two stones collided with hers, reducing it to fragments.
"Cheater! What was that for?" she snapped.
Ye Yun shrugged. "You didn’t dodge. Can’t blame me for that."
"You…" She frowned, realizing he’d never specified rules—victory simply required having the last stone aloft.
"Enough, Ling’er. Accept the loss gracefully," the other girl interjected with a smile. "This one is Shui Yingying of the Immortal Dao Sect. My sister here is Shui Lingling." Her gaze lingered on Ling’er with unmistakable fondness, as if the girl were a priceless treasure.
Ye Yun hid his surprise. Though unfamiliar with the sisters, he knew the Immortal Dao Sect surpassed even the Moon Goddess Palace among top sects. These two were clearly prodigies—especially Shui Lingling, whose aura hinted at imminent breakthrough to the Earth Immortal realm. Most cultivators stalled eternally at the Seventh Level of the Nascent Soul stage, yet here she stood, barely hindered by the mortal-to-immortal chasm.
"Ye Yun. A wandering cultivator," he replied with a cupped-hand salute.
"Obviously. Only a rootless wanderer would rely on such tricks," Shui Lingling huffed, still nettled. "Don’t go bragging about this!"
"Bragging?" Ye Yun chuckled. "We were just passing time. Who’d care?"
Shui Lingling blinked, then burst into laughter.
"Why did you scan us with spirit perception earlier?" she suddenly demanded. "That’s rude! A Fourth Level Nascent Soul cultivator like you could’ve gotten killed!"
"Life’s dangers come unannounced. Constant vigilance sounds exhausting," Ye Yun drawled.
"Enough bickering." Shui Yingying smiled. "Brother Ye Yun, are you seeking the Broken Space’s treasures too?"
"A wanderer must seize opportunities," he admitted. "But why would the Immortal Dao Sect let geniuses like you roam freely?"
"Ling’er has no choice!" The younger sister cut in. "The Broken Space holds relics from the Immortal-Demon God war! One artifact could change everything—you think our sect would share such prizes?"
Ye Yun kept his face neutral despite inner shock. A battlefield of fallen Immortals and Demon Gods? The Heart of Immortals and Demons within him pulsed faintly—another such relic that had saved his life countless times.
"True. No sect would part with such spoils," he agreed.
"It’s been dull traveling alone. Join us!" Shui Lingling blurted.
"Not worried I’m a scheming villain?" Ye Yun raised an eyebrow.
"You? I’d kill you before you twitched. Your cultivation’s pathetic next to mine." She sniffed. As a Stellar Body nearing the Earth Immortal realm, she could rival most experts in that domain.
Ye Yun hesitated. Companions meant attention—and Shui Lingling’s pure charm surely had admirers. But the Ancestor of the Sword Path’s voice echoed in his mind: *Fools will dismiss you as their servant. Use that. The Stellar Body’s potential is worth the trouble.*
"Intriguing. Let’s see what these ‘spiritual bodies’ can do," Ye Yun finally said. Beyond curiosity, he needed answers—the Broken Space might explain the Heart within him.
"Lead on, then." He fell into step beside them.
