Chapter 661: The Stone Gate in the Snow

Ye Yun’s eyes flashed with sharp light as he stared ahead. He exhaled gray turbid air, relieving more internal pressure. Feeling his current condition, his body trembled slightly before he coldly clenched his hand to disperse the flames. The ten zhang radius around him instantly became scorched earth devoid of coldness.

The fire poison inside Ye Yun didn’t grow at all under this pressure, as if scared of being burned away by the pure flames. Meanwhile, three other spiritual energies surged through his meridians.

"You look so weak now," Ye Yun remarked flatly. Purple Shadow Divine Sword slashed through empty air as Sword Energy shot toward distant ice ridges without leaving traces in the snow.

    BOOM!

The great crash triggered collapsing stones and massive avalanches. Activating spatial laws with white light flickering, Ye Yun instantly teleported beside Golden Ling’er and Jin An to evacuate them.

He didn’t care about potential Nascent Soul stage casualties within Xumi Treasure – they knew the risks. Restoring seventy percent strength already exceeded his expectations.

"Never thought Ice Heart Grass worked this well." Observing reduced snowfall, Ye Yun checked his meridians. Even without ice element heavenly materials, time alone could purge remaining fire poison. He itched to test his recovered power.

"Senior! Was that terrifying sword strike your new insight from closed-door cultivation?" Golden Ling’er gazed worshipfully at the fading sword arc that had pierced the sky. Though weakened by distance, the residual force still paralyzed their legs and erased their true qi temporarily.

"Just stretching after long inactivity. My apologies for startling you." Ye Yun smiled at Jin An’s awed expression.

"Can Nascent Soul stage cultivators achieve such sword techniques?" Jin An pressed, admiration overflowing.

"With enough dedication… possibly. Extraordinary geniuses exist everywhere." Ye Yun tactfully replied.

"You’re twenty while I’m twenty-four. Comparing to you geniuses is hopeless." Jin An sighed dejectedly.

    "True!" Golden Ling’er nodded vigorously.

"Ling’er could catch up if she works hard!" Jin An encouraged.

"Why bother? Senior’s pace is unmatchable." The girl hung her head, making Jin An sigh too – they’d become irrelevant once parting came.

"Cultivation has no end. Why surrender early?" Ye Yun advised.

"Your level’s too distant. I’ll never reach it." Golden Ling’er mumbled.

"Stop projecting laziness! Just cultivate properly." Jin An chided gently.

"But seeing impossible gaps… hurts." The girl’s gloom seemed deeper than mere cultivation envy.

*See Ye Yun? This loneliness-poison hurts ordinary folk despite your intentions.* Ancestor of the Sword Path’s voice echoed mentally.

*Annoying foolishness.* Ye Yun dismissed coldly, though understanding mortal awe toward experts.

"Since Senior’s so strong, our treasure chances improved!" Golden Ling’er bounced back cheerfully.

"Y-yes." Jin An blinked before chuckling – maybe accepting limitations brought peace.

*This little girl’s amusing,* Ancestor chuckled before warning: *Don’t mix spiritual power and true qi below Nascent Soul stage!*

*I value my life more than you.* Ye Yun retorted. *Does Nine-Dragon Heartbroken Grass still work? Need more soul-nourishing items?*

*Fetch more before its effects fade.*

As Ye Yun teleported again, Ancestor faced the snarling supreme Immortal artifact fire dragon. Black-white energy swirled around his fingers. "Keep resisting? Let’s continue."

    ROAR!

The Dragon Chant shook the air but didn’t reach Ye Yun. Twenty-seven top-quality Immortal artifacts cowered as ancestral soul power tortured their fire dragon leader.

"The jade tablet’s trail ends here." Ye Yun scanned snowy wastes fruitlessly with spirit perception.

"Treasure hunting!" Golden Ling’er dove into snow, giggling. "Let’s build snowmen!"

Jin An smiled indulgently while searching.

*Found anything?* Ye Yun mentally asked.

*Buried below, if the shattered jade tablet wasn’t wrong.* Ancestor teased. *Shouldn’t have crushed our only clue.*

Ye Yun grimaced. Finding the entrance now seemed impossible.

"Hey! Something’s here!" Golden Ling’er kicked a buried object. Her casual true qi blast made the ground quake.

"Ling’er!" Jin An dashed over in panic as a stone gate erupted from snow.

"Did it choose me as its master?" The girl gaped at the gate.

"Haha! Ling’er’s so lucky!" She posed triumphantly while Jin An panted sweatily in freezing cold.

"Your beast fur too hot?" She tilted her head.

"Just… glad you’re safe." He wheezed.

Wind swirled as Ye Yun arrived. "Good work finding the entrance, Jin An."

"I found it!" Golden Ling’er pouted. "The gate sensed my greatness!"

"Indeed, Ling’er’s our hero." Jin An backed her playfully.

"Then thank her properly." Ye Yun shrugged. Names didn’t matter – the gate was key.

"But how to open it?" She stomped the gate uselessly before channeling true qi into it. The gate shuddered… then stilled.
