Chapter 598
by post_apiChapter 598: The Late Arrival of World War II
In the year 5,885 on the Xia calendar, the first global world war ended.
After the peace talks, the Allied Powers were in a dire state because they had to foot the bill for the war. Faced with harsh realities, they implemented practical policies, like breaking the trade barriers among the three federal countries by improving technology and reducing costs to compete with their products.
They were also restricted in the number of troops, saving a huge amount in military expenses, which could then be invested in civilian industries.
In the year five thousand eight hundred and ninety-five on the Xia calendar, after ten years of rest and recovery, the Allied countries gradually emerged from the shadows of defeat and quickly restored their strength.
The Allied countries, with their restored strength, began a new war, but this time it was not against their southern allies, but within the Allied countries themselves.
The Allied countries, totaling more than thirty countries, each with their own characteristics, originated from the Immortal Kingdom, Datong Country, and Zhou Dynasty. They share the same culture and ethnicity, akin to a unified war effort.
The wise men of the Three Countries Alliance realized that this war would give rise to a powerful empire, but the three countries were powerless to stop it. Internally, there were deep conflicts, with remnants of feudal power, and they were also facing economic crises.
Meanwhile, colonial uprisings were taking place all over the world, severely hindering the Three Countries Alliance, forcing them to adopt appeasement policies.
Five years later, the Allied countries reduced from over thirty to five. Though these five countries didn’t declare war on the Three Countries Alliance, they initiated a new round of actions. They established a complete military system, invested in heavy industry under the banner of the nation, and secretly supported rebellions in the colonies, making the situation even more difficult for the Three Countries Alliance.

"Whether it’s a feudal empire or a capitalist congress system, ultimately it is a system of people ruling over people. The prosperity of a nation largely depends on whether it can produce strong leaders. Regrettably, the elders of our Huaxia Federation have become weak and indulgent in pleasures of wine and women…"
"In the north, the Jiabang Empire saw the return of the dynasty, with its monarch proving to be very wise…"
"Our country’s army didn’t go fight the strong enemies, but instead was fighting against colonies."
"Endless land mergers led to more bankrupt farmers and rebellions, signs of cannibalism resurfaced in the country."
At Bianhai University, Lin Jiang and some wealthy people were listening to scholars complaining about the big issues in the country. Even though the war had ended, everyone thought that better days were coming.
However, that wasn’t the case. The country had implemented some policies to address the economic crisis, but they had little effect because many of these policies were based on exploiting and oppressing colonies.
After years of development, the colonies had awakened their national identity. Protests and wars erupted in all of the federal colonies. The disbanded army was re-recruited and sent to suppress the uprisings by the colonists.
The army faced a major challenge as they were confronting all the people in the colonies. Unless they killed everyone, they couldn’t tell who the rebels were. But if they killed them all, what would happen to their products? It had become a vicious cycle.
Internally, the country was not peaceful either. The federal laws didn’t prevent land mergers. In the midst of the economic crisis, the rich became even wealthier, while the middle and lower classes faced bankruptcy. This led to the rich acquiring unimaginable amounts of land, even Lin Jiang now owned tens of thousands of acres.
This led to internal uprisings in the country. The economic policies put in place by the government were mostly bankrupt. In fact, the country’s power had weakened compared to previous years. With no external conflicts to release the tension, internal conflicts were escalating.
"The federation only needs one major defeat, and the northern allied countries will strike back. Prepare yourselves."
The scholar made a prediction that made many people worried. Even though they are smart, they couldn’t do anything to change the chaotic situation in the country.
"Mr. Lin, what’s your opinion on that statement?"
After the academic speech, someone asked for Lin Jiang’s opinion. Lin Jiang had been successful in several companies, so his words carried more weight.
"Looking back at the thousands of years of history, the leaders should have learned from the past. The powerful men have let their greed cloud their judgment."
Lin Jiang shook his head with a smile and said. Throughout the five thousand years of history, we have faced all kinds of problems. Unfortunately, people have not learned from our past experiences.
The powerful leaders above may know more than Lin Jiang because they have access to more information. However, they make decisions based on personal gain rather than what’s best for everyone.
After hearing this, some people remained silent. Those who understood the situation kept quiet, pretending not to understand if they didn’t.
When he returned home, Lin Jiang quickly transferred his assets. The persona of Lin Yang continued to generate wealth, and Lin Jiang didn’t want to waste any opportunities.
For investments that couldn’t be transferred, Lin Jiang continued to invest in unfamiliar fields, not necessarily for profit but to gain experience. He was willing to lose money to learn from his experiences, which he believed was more valuable than what anyone else could tell him.
After stepping on all the potholes, we can learn from our mistakes and avoid unnecessary ones in the future.
In the year 5895 of the Xia calendar, the powerful Huaxia Federation in the Alliance Three Countries was defeated in a war of the colonies, leading to the independence of most of its colonies. Huaxia Federation lost its vast overseas colonies.
In the same year, the Green Cloud Republic (formerly known as the Immortal Kingdom) in the Alliance Three Countries failed in their expedition to the western regions (west of Liang State). Their expeditionary army was surrounded and suffered heavy losses.
The following year, the naval forces of the Zhou Liao United States (formerly the Zhou Dynasty) in the Alliance Three Countries rebelled, leading to a civil war that nearly wiped out their navy. Alliance Three Countries faced a military setback.
In the same year, in May of the year 5896 in the Xia calendar, there was a riot in the Qing River North District of the Green Cloud Republic. During the riot, merchants from the Jiabang Empire were brutally looted. The Jiabang Empire protested strongly and assembled a large army in the border area, while the Green Cloud Republic also mobilized troops in the border region. The two sides began military exercises facing each other.
During the exercises the following month, an accidental firing led to a serious conflict between both sides. The Jiabang Empire violated the terms of the treaty from the first major battle, expanded their army on a large scale to two million military personnel nationwide, converted many factories into military production, and started military mobilization.
In September, there was another incident of looting of Jiabang Empire merchants in the Qing River North District. Jiabang Empire implemented countermeasures, freezing the assets of Qingyun merchants in the Jiabang Empire.
In October, the ambassador sent by Jiabang Empire to negotiate with the Green Cloud Republic was surrounded by angry Qingyun people on the street and was killed on the spot. The next day, Jiabang Empire declared war on the Green Cloud Republic.
Less than an hour after declaring war, the air force of Jiabang Empire bombed the military camps, power plants, coal mines, warehouses, airports, and other important facilities on the border of the Green Cloud Republic. The entire border aviation squadron of the Green Cloud Republic was wiped out.
On the second day, the armored forces of Jiabang Empire attacked the Qing River North District of Green Cloud Republic, destroying most of their army. Green Cloud Republic then declared war on Jiabang Empire.
After the two countries declared war, fighting quickly spread. Led by Jiabang Empire, the Allied Nations were formed again, and they marched south, leading to another world war.
