"Evelyn, is it? Would you like to become my student?" Li Bai asked Evelyn.

Though Evelyn’s talent was nothing compared to his own, it was still far stronger than that of an ordinary person.

Just as they were talking, Emperor Loris walked in.

"Ancestor," Loris greeted Karleir respectfully.

"I haven’t seen you care for Evelyn before, but now you seem to visit often."

Hearing this, Loris gave an awkward smile.

Seeing the emperor being scolded like a grandson by the elder, Vivian looked at Karleir with even more respect.

"Speak, what do you want? If it’s nothing, you can go back. Is the empire’s emperor so free?" Karleir lectured Loris.

"Ancestor, besides seeing Evelyn, I also wanted to tell Vivian that Katherine has been sent to the cold palace."

Loris finally said to Vivian, "The matter is clear now. It was Katherine who framed you. I also didn’t see it, so I hope you don’t hold any hatred against me."

"I wouldn’t dare," Vivian replied simply.

Everyone knew the truth about what happened back then.

The empress Katherine accused her of poisoning, and when it grew serious, the emperor sent her to the cold palace.

There was no right or wrong in this matter; the error lay in her lacking Katherine’s powerful connections.

Hearing Vivian’s words, Loris felt somewhat embarrassed and displeased.

"Mother, I’m hungry," Evelyn whined to Vivian.

"Okay, if Evelyn is hungry, Mother will make you some delicious food," Vivian said with a smile.

After going through so much in the palace, she realized that no amount of wealth or power mattered more than being with her daughter.

Soon, Vivian prepared a bowl of tasty food.

Watching her daughter eat heartily, Vivian smiled with satisfaction.

"Evelyn, what did you do with Great-grandfather today?" Vivian asked her daughter cheerfully.

"Great-grandfather took me to meet big brother."

"Big brother? Which big brother?"

Vivian thought the big brother her daughter mentioned must be one of the princes in the palace.

"Just big brother, a really handsome big brother. He is so nice…"

Evelyn didn’t know how to describe it, so she only said he was handsome and very kind.

Hearing this, Vivian asked again, "Since this big brother is so nice to you, why not invite him to our home next time? Mother will make you both delicious food?"

"Okay! I will definitely invite big brother next time. Last time when I was hungry, he gave me lots of delicious food," Evelyn said, feeling very happy that her mother encouraged her to invite big brother.
